We had the good fortune of connecting with Noelle Hensler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noelle, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Everything you do has risks associated with it. There are risks to going outside and risks for staying inside. The most important thing to remember is that you can’t control everything, so learn to identify, weigh and manage those risks to live an interesting and rewarding life. Choosing to be an actor was a huge risk because I am either working for a few days at a time or grinding to find a new job. I put myself in a vulnerable position, putting myself out there for every audition to be met with rejection a lot of the time. But the excitement, fun, and relationships I make along the way makes it feel worth it. Also, I took a risk writing for this article, because nothing is fact-checked and I’m interested to see if they even post it. Nothing is guaranteed so why not pursue what makes you happy and see what happens?
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I was young, I would play video games with my brother. He would be so strategic, wanting us to hold back and wait until he can whittle down the number of enemies using ranged attacks before I would go in and beat the rest with my huge sword. Unfortunately, I would get bored very quickly, charge in to the fray and die almost immediately. He would get so frustrated with me because it would take us several tries to get passed those simple levels all because of my “Charge and Die” attitude. So, many years later, I decided to use that as my brand! Now, as a Tik Toker, Gamer, and Cosplayer, I am known as Charge and Die. With a logo in development and merch being made, I am incredibly excited to be getting my name out there! It has been tough not being able to act much during 2020 due to the pandemic, but I’m happy to say I am coming out of it stronger and more passionate in my acting and entertainment career. Today I am known as a professional scareactor, gamer, and cosplayer who tells storytimes and does fun skits. Soon, I will be expanding that to other social media and getting back to auditioning for film and voiceover (theater once things are more safe). Look out world! This spooky, nerdy girl is going places! But not physically until more people get vaccinated, stay safe.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If this person was really my friend, they would know how I love to stay inside and play board games. I would order us pizza and we would play games all week long. I mean, aren’t I exciting enough?
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course I would like to thank my family, friends, amazing boyfriend, mistress mentor, and my cats for helping me get through not only the highs but also the lows. This is a tricky business to navigate so it’s important to have amazing, supportive people to help keep you going. There are times I felt like I was stuck, tied up, and wanting to quit, but those people helped me keep with it and get where I am today.
