We had the good fortune of connecting with Alton Pete and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alton, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my very own business was invigorating, motivating, fearless, and enthusiastic. The Army has provided all the training, the will, the fortitude, the courage and the resilience to do anything in this world.

I have this humbled heart and a positive attitude to fight for a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. I’m Hungry, Thirsty and Ready to make a change. My thoughts were about others, families, Veterans, Civilians and the Service Members who have gone to War and put their lives on the line, every single day.

Everyday, we should work on our mental health, well being and have consideration for others. I’m more of an action person, not just hearing about issues without implementing a plan to resolve issues.

I have plans on starting a foundation in my mother’s name to carry out her passion of being a philanthropist, that’s the goal.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the most excited about my retirement from the Army, 2014. I’ve served 26 years 4 months of faithful and loyal services for our country. A 16 month tour in Iraq and The Sacrifice Was Well Worth It…

After retiring in 2014, I started writing an amazing book titled “Life Is So Precious.” This work of art has been doing so well until now, we are ready to begin Production of a very Powerful Beautiful Film Project called “Life Is So Precious.’”

The Army has prepared me for all the obstacles, sudden changes, the highs and the lows. My passion for the consideration of others has become so valuable and dear to my heart. I have this strong desire to do more and to do much better in our communities with my innovative ideas and concepts to see the necessary changes today, tomorrow and years to come.

It’s concerning to me, to those of us who have crossed pass the finish line into success. To be humbled enough to go back into the community, neighborhoods and teach others how to fish, how to make those dreams happen and know your Worth.

Today, The “Life Is So Precious” Powerful Film Project and The Brand is to compel and to propel everyone, despite how ugly things look right now, Don’t ever give up on Yourself! I completely understand how many people are feeling regarding the pain, dealing with disappointments, don’t have a clue on which way to go or turn. The struggles are too much to bear. If God, didn’t think we can bear anything, he wouldn’t of placed it, in our view. Changes in life are like Faith, their necessary, it doesn’t feel good all the time but it promotes growth and there’s something we’ve got to learn from it. Plus, you’ll come out Shining like a Diamond and you’ll Shine like Gold. There’s enough Shine to go around for everyone, God hasn’t ran out of any Sunshine.

Your today, tomorrow is Bigger than your yesterday. Yesterday is over, today and tomorrow is promising, for you. “Life Is So Precious” is a reminder, that success will be an ever-learning development process. So widen your heart, your thoughts, your dreams and your visions.

The Film Project, we’re going to address, educate and provide solutions for PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Loneliness, Hurt and Pain. Because, I CARE…

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In the Bay Area, everyone love to see San Francisco. San Francisco is cool, it’s alright. But, there are some exclusive spots in Walnut Creek, Dublin, Concord, Livermore, California that are rich with culture, safe and fun to explore. The restaurants are mind boggling to experience as well. A bonus, you can’t beat the nice weather along a smooth drive down the coast highway! And our hotels are glamorous too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would have to be my mom and my sister. We lost both, and right now they motivate me, drive me and I could still feel both of them believing in Alton. Everyday, I miss them. Only God, gives me the strength that I need, to pull through. Sometimes, you feel like you wanna go crazy. So, the great memories have a way of captivating me, keeps me laser focused, realizing my purpose, my mission and I just don’t want to let my mom down. Those of you, who are traveling on this road, you understand!

I will say, I saw the movie Boomerang with Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, David Alan Greer, Halle Berry, Robin Givens, John Weatherspoon, Grace Jones, Eartha Kitt while stationed in Hanau, Germany. This well put together film project, sparked a strong interest within me, to be a Filmmaker and Producer. So, this is my SHOUTOUT to that fabulous cast and Eddie Murphy giving the Inspiration for others to follow.

One other person, who has inspired me to pursue my dreams, Magic Johnson. I met Magic in 2001, had a chance to play ball with him in 2004. Let me say, Magic Got Some Game! Hopefully, sometime soon in the film industry, I could reconnect with Magic and possibly work together on some projects.
