We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyanna Syson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyanna, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success to me is about finding a harmonious balance between pursuing your dreams and maintaining a deep sense of contentment and gratitude in the present moment.

Working on your desires with passion and dedication is essential, however, focusing only on future achievements can lead to burnout and perpetual dissatisfaction.

Contentment comes from recognizing your progress, valuing your experiences, and being present in each moment.

Gratitude plays a significant role in this balance, as it fosters a positive mindset and anchors you in the now, helping you to see the blessings and opportunities in your life, regardless of your current circumstances.

I think the dual approach of striving for more while being deeply grateful for what you already have is where true success lies. A fulfilling and meaningful life is where ambition and appreciation coexist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an accountant by day and a passionate content creator beyond the 9-5. My journey as a CPA diverged from the traditional route; rather than spending years in public accounting, I took a leap of faith straight into the private industry, entertainment, specifically. The initial years were challenging, and I often felt like I was missing out. However, I soon realized that this unconventional path afforded me the work-life balance needed to discover and pursue my true passions—traveling and content creation.

I’m proud to have climbed the corporate ladder by 30 while simultaneously nurturing my hobbies and leading a balanced life. My early immersion in accounting began with my deep involvement in our family business from the age of six. This foundation paved the way for my professional journey, which took a significant turn when I moved to LA from the Philippines right after college. Starting from scratch, adapting to a new culture, and finding my community were no easy feats. Yet, with a strong determination and a bit of luck, I managed to overcome these challenges.

Through my career, I’ve learned that success relies not only on expertise but also on cultivating meaningful connections. It’s not just about what you know or who you know, but more importantly, who knows you that can propel your career forward. The secret sauce is finding great mentors. I have two, both tell me the harsh truth: one is more motivating, and the other provides tough love. This balance has been perfect for my growth. I believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the relationships I’ve nurtured and my mentors’ guidance.

I aim to share with the world that I am a determined, ambitious woman who fearlessly pursues her dreams and turns them into reality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d start with a visit to either Universal Studios or Disneyland for some theme park fun. We would hike Griffith Park for stunning views, then explore the iconic streets of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. A day at the beach in Santa Monica or Malibu would be a perfect way to relax.

For food, our first stop would be In-N-Out by LAX. Breakfast at Great White has the perfect aesthetics to start the day. NUA or Bottega Louie for lunch. Dinner could be at either BOA Steakhouse or Park’s KBBQ. For quick late-night bites, Leo’s Taco Truck is a must. Kanomwaan has the best shaced ice for dessert. As a bonus, we’d try some amazing Thai food at Ruen Pair or Torung.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. This book was recommended to me during a challenging period in my life after moving to Los Angeles. Feeling lost and overwhelmed by the demands of my new life, this book brought about one of the most significant shifts in my character and way of thinking about life.

“The Secret” revealed to me that our thoughts and beliefs can shape our reality. This realization empowered me to focus on positive thinking and visualize my goals as if they were already achieved. This new mindset transformed my perspective and helped me navigate through my difficulties and make better things happen for me.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the power of their mind and manifest their dreams.
