We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Deming and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
After getting certified as a Massage Therapist and Health Practitioner in 2008, I also became a Doula, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Raw Food Chef, and Reiki Master. I dove right in because I wanted to start my own mobile spa business. In 2011, during a deep 6 hour meditation in my Kundalini Yoga teacher training course, I received a download with the name, logo and concept of my business. At that moment, Inside Out Mobile Spa was created. The next day I got my website and Yelp page up and running. For the past 10 years I have organically grown so much and now have an amazing team of CA licensed Massage Therapists, Estheticians, Nail Techs, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists and more. We have been very blessed with amazing clients and over 80 5 star reviews on Yelp.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Inside Out Mobile Spa is a mobile day spa that provides elite personalized services in the comfort of your own home, office or other desired location. We concentrate on a holistic and therapeutic approach to help create relaxation, balance and promote positive well-being. We customize each and every session to make sure that the client gets exactly what they need. During the massages we provide complementary aromatherapy and tuning fork therapy. There are other available add-ons like cupping, hot stones, chakra alignment and Reiki to name a few. I am a Doula so I specialize in pre/post natal and infant massages as well. We accommodate all ages and stages of life. Our commitment to helping others heal, our intuitive and therapeutic touch, punctuality, customized services, communication, and highly skilled technicians across the board sets us apart from other spas.We stay positive, educated and connected with our clients and that shines through in our work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Whenever people come to visit I always like to show them a good time. I enjoy food, wine and beautiful scenery so a few of my favorite places are Malibu and Rosenthal Wineries, Lake Shrine, Balboa Lake Park, Huntington Gardens, Griffith Observatory and the Vino bike trail in Santa Barbara.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shout out to Maria Aparis who took me under her wing and taught me the ins and outs of running a business, my massage teacher and other mentor Maria Furlano. All my friends, family and amazing clients who have supported me through out the years!
