Meet Amanda Leibowitz | Chief Cleaner With Benefits at The Cleaner Soul

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Leibowitz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After a shock breast cancer diagnosis I realized that I needed to use only non toxic chemical free cleaning products. On my journey to find suitable safe products I saw how we, the consumers, are being duped into buying products that we believe are keeping our homes clean and healthy when in fact we are being sold toxic poisonous chemicals disguised as household cleaners. We spray these in our homes believing that we are protecting our precious families from germs when in fact we are creating more problems by making our homes and the air that we breathe toxic and dangerous. I couldn’t trust even products labelled safe and natural so I started making my own in my kitchen. I wanted to create a brand that today’s conscious consumers are looking for, safe and non toxic, with minimum simple ingredients. An intelligent brand that is associated with positive cognitive benefits from the aromas of the essential oils that are used to fragrance the products, as well as being very effective cleaning products. The Cleaner Soul is bringing the industry into the present by reducing single use plastics as well as reducing our exposure to health endangering ingredients.
I aim to make The Cleaner Soul todays healthy alternative to unnecessary out dated chemical laden toxic products.

We are on a mission to eliminate harmful chemicals and single use plastics from our homes and world. Good for you and good for Planet Earth. It’s a wonderful world and The Cleaner Soul wants to keep it that way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My failed quest to find trusted effective cleaning products led me to making my own. Long hours, money invested and many missed social events due to work are all worthwhile when I
read all the positive emails from customers. I appreciate the time a customer takes to email me and have made so many new Cleaner Soul friends from all over the country.
We have an 87% repeat customer rate which makes me so proud of what we do. I feel like every customer is a Cleaner Soul family member and I value their support very much and love to tell them that. Being able to connect with the names behind the buyers is very special. As we are mainly an e-commerce company we have issues with boxes getting lost and occasionally damaged. I have learnt to turn these situations into positive opportunities and take extra steps to replace orders and to show the customer how much we care, creating a memorable experience and developing long lasting relationships.
My small team makes all our products in house and we all proudly use the products we make. We believe when you make something with love it’s contagious and we are passing that love to our Cleaner Soul Fam.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My out of town visitors usually end up with a week of OC positive health experiences. There are daily trips to Vibe Organic Kitchen and Juice Bar. It’s feel good real food and the locations are always full of beautiful inspiring people. My visitors crave the sunshine and beaches so trips to the coastal towns armed with fresh juices from Vibe are high on the agenda. Sunrise or sunset beach walks with lots of fresh air and quality loving friend time are priceless. They like to walk around LA and marvel at a celebrity sighting and the uniqueness of LA. Often they volunteer to help me at work and travel home with new knowledge about non toxic living and cases full of The Cleaner Soul bottles.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Taylor Loeffler my valued formulator who tweaked my original formula and patiently listens to my requests to only use certain ingredients. He always creates the perfect end product My son Rafi who corrects my gaps in sentences, and solves all the IT issues that I have no idea about and fills out very lengthy forms for me.
