We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Ma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Here are some habits that help me succeed in business:

Persistence: persevere in the face of challenges and setbacks. Willing to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.

Focus: Have a clear vision of what I want to achieve and are able to stay focused on my goals. It avoids distractions and stay on track even when there are many demands on their time.

Continuous learning: Always learning and seeking new information and insights. I am curious and open-minded, and are constantly looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge.

Time management: Managing my time effectively. I prioritize my tasks and activities, and are able to make the most of each day.

Networking: Importance of building strong relationships with others. I am looking for transformational, not transactional. I am here for the long haul. Also, find ways to help others succeed. They will remember you and return the favor.

Adaptability: Able to adapt to changes and challenges in the marketplace. Being flexible and willing to change course when necessary, in order to stay competitive and meet the needs of our customers.

Risk-taking: Willing to take calculated risks in order to achieve my goals. I learn to be comfortable with uncertainty and are willing to try new things, even if there is a chance of failure. Learning to fail forward is an art as well.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Firstly, it’s important to recognize that success is rarely easy. Most successful people face challenges and setbacks along the way. The key is to stay focused on your goals, remain persistent, and be willing to adapt and learn from your experiences.

Some lessons that can be learned along the way to success include:

The importance of hard work and dedication: Success often requires a lot of effort and commitment. It’s important to be willing to put in the work and stay dedicated to your goals.

The value of perseverance: Challenges and setbacks are inevitable, but it’s important to keep pushing forward and never give up on your dreams.

The power of networking and building relationships: Having a strong network of contacts and supporters can be incredibly valuable in achieving success.

The importance of continuous learning: Staying curious and seeking new knowledge and insights can help you stay competitive and adapt to changes in your industry.

The need for resilience and adaptability: Being able to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to changes in your environment can be critical for achieving success in today’s rapidly changing world. During pandemic it was a very challenging time but we channeled fear into innovation and pivoted to doing virtual events and events kits.

We are an agency that cares and gives back to the community as well. Not only do we build incredible event experiences, we also find ways to give back to our community. Our EventUp podcast is one of the example. It started as an information platform to serve our community but blossomed into a platform to also highlight top diverse and women leaders in our industry.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s important to acknowledge that success is rarely achieved alone. Behind every successful entrepreneur, there are often many people who have played a role in their journey. These may include mentors, advisors, employees, family members, and others who have supported them along the way. Additionally, the broader community and society in which the entrepreneur operates can also play a significant role in their success. This is true for me as well. I had so many fantastic mentor, coach and business groups that I belong to that really help me propel forward. Additionally, a strong home support so I can have a peace of mind doing the work that I do.
