Meet Amber Wegner

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Amber Wegner again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Amber, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Thank you so much for having me back! It is always an honor when I am asked to share my story, because we all have one, right? I moved to LA from Maui 20 years ago to pursue acting. I spent three years pounding the pavement and I was not really getting anywhere. What I realized later was that I was competing with the Olympic level athlete’s of acting. If I was going to even attempt to be in the same league, I needed to study, learn my craft, and also figure out a way to create my own content.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
2024 was my busiest year as an actor so far. Last year I completed a feature film for Lionsgate, two short films, a TV movie for Lifetime and 5 TV mini series. I currently have 6 projects in production now. I am beyond grateful because I have had many times in my career where I wasn’t working.
I am really excited about 2025. I have hope and excitement about the future.
In 2021, I started a podcast called, Actors Inspiration. I designed the podcast with the newcomer actor in mind. It was originally designed as a daily podcast for a morning burst of inspiration. In the podcast, I never wanted to give advise, rather, share stories about myself, other actors, directors, and creatives, on how we navigated our journey’s up to this point. In 2024, after over 300 episodes and much consideration, I took the podcast down. I did so because there were some topics that I later changed my opinions on. The fan base was incredible and I really enjoyed my interactions with so many fans around the world.
I absolutely LOVED creating and producing the podcast as well as interviewing amazingly talented artists. I am very much looking forward to my next creative adventure! I closed every episode by saying, “If no one else tells you today, I believe in you. Go create some miracles, and always believe that you can”.
I still live by those words.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?
Favorite Movie: Shawshank Redemption
Favorite Book: I have so many! I recently read Cicely Tyson’s Memoir, Just As I Am, and I have almost every page dog eared with her wisdom.
Favorite TV Show: Again, so many! I am enjoying Paradise on Apple TV. I loved Unprisioned on Hulu. If I want nostalgia, Gilmore Girls or Parenthood.
Favorite Band or Artist: Fiona Apple Tidal album is still one of my all time fav’s.
Sweet or Savory: Sweet – Chocolate chip cookies spicifically
Mountains or Beach: Beach, but I don’t like to be in the water, just near the water.
Favorite Sport (to watch): Super Bowl, but only for the commercials. I love seeing my friends and acquaintances on TV. I know how hard it can be to get there. I am the first ones to cheer them on!
Favorite Sport (to play): Pilates isn’t a sport, but it’s my jam!
Did you play sports growing up (if so which ones): Nope!
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up: An Actor, from as early as I can remember.
French Fries or Onion Rings: Frings! There are places where you can have both!
Chuck Rhodes or Bobby Axelrod: Chuck Rhodes all day… I LOVE Paul Giamatti!
Favorite Cartoon growing up: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Favorite Childhood movie: Wizard of Oz
Favorite Breakfast Food: French Toast with two scrambled eggs on the side
When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
1) As Frank Sinatra said, I did it my way. I am, and will continue to be proud of the fact that I have always been willing to take risks. I never want to be put in a box or told how to navigate my life or career. I will always seek guidance, especially from those who have traveled before me, but at the end of the day, I will make my own decisions.
2) My faith in a Higher Power. I start my day asking, How may I be of service? Who may I serve? And how can I make best use of this beautiful mind, body and spirit that I have been so graciously given to use today? I don’t take this life for granted.
3) That I leave my ego at the door. There is no job that is too big or small for me. I am grateful to be number 1 on the call sheet and I am always happy when I get the opportunity to stand in for A list actors for various projects. I am a big believer that work begets work.
I am happy to be a worker amongst workers.
