Meet Amelia Cohen-Smith | Head of Brand and Communications @ Besa mi vino

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amelia Cohen-Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amelia, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We are one of the few women-led brands in alcohol, and our better-for-you products are created by women, for women. Just as important, we bring our values to life through community events. From concerts to mixers, we create safe, exciting spaces where people, especially women, can connect and celebrate. I am proud of how our brand builds genuine, positive experiences in a category where that impact is rare.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am proud and excited about where we are headed as a brand. We are expanding into new regions and preparing for major partnerships, and what sets us apart is that we never stop evolving. From refining our product and formula to reimagining how we connect with our audience and what it means to be part of the Besa community, we are always striving to deliver more. Our upcoming Hard Seltzer refresh, with a new look and flavor, reflects that commitment. From the very beginning, when our first test flight sold out right away, we have listened, adapted, and grown with the love and support of our community. That spirit of growth and connection is what drives us every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question! Night one would be tacos at Tu Madre, a comedy show on Sunset, then live music and a boogie at Desert 5. We would hit Melrose Trading Post and Melrose for thrifting, grab a Cha Cha Matcha on Abbot Kinney, and wander the Venice Canals. Sunset in Santa Monica from Elephante is also unmatched. Those are my favorite LA spots to show off when friends visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Victoria Brodsky, CEO of Besa. She has an incredible entrepreneurial mind, always thinking a few steps ahead while staying resourceful and quick on the fly. I’ve learned so much from her long-term vision and adaptability, and I’m grateful to have her as both a leader and mentor in my journey.
