We had the good fortune of connecting with Ami Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ami, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe mindfulness and quality plays a huge role in the success of anyone’s brand especially my brand. I’m very thoughtful about which events I partake in, roles I take, performances I choose to do – even down to a post. I believe in quality. I actually used to get online and post whatever I was thinking/ feeling.. respectfully. Now, I move much more differently and professionally… because I understand I am brand.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Freestyling set me apart from the jump. Just the ability to go in and come off of the top of the dome really shocked a lot of people and gained me a lot of respect. The fearlessness and confidence to go out and battle people on national television really catapulted my career. I’ve definitely faced a lot of challenges especially being a female and having to maintain my composure and professionalism amidst a lot of injustices to me has been challenging. I love what I do. I love music and my faith gets stronger every day and that is how I’m able to overcome a lot of the challenges. I took back my independence. I stopped believing that I needed others just because that’s what they wanted me to believe.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love taking people to Gladstones for the scenery and drinks. That is a hit every time. And just Santa Monica Beach, Mulholland Drive, maybe a couple spots in Weho. As far as restaurants, they will be eating vegan food with me lol . We will hit up the fashion district of course, Topanga Overlook even Topanga Mall. People love to drive thru Beverly Hills, thats a vibe. I also like Melody Bar and Grill in Inglewood. It’s black owned and it you can watch the planes land.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to give a shout out to God and my mother. My mother is also one of my best friends. She has a lot of wisdom and love.. She is my biggest supporter. Also, my fellow artists especially female artists. The journey gets tough, just stay focused. Cant forget my fellow actor friends and entrepreneurs out here making a name for themselves. Your hustle is saluted.
