We had the good fortune of connecting with Amit Ojha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amit, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Success, for me, has always been about facing challenges head-on. I have never been one to shy away from risks or uncertainty. Instead, I embrace them, knowing that growth often comes from the most difficult moments. This habit has shaped my career, pushing me to step into new territories, learn on the go, and find solutions even when the path wasn’t clear.

I believe in continuous learning—not just from formal education but from everything around me. Every challenge, every interaction, and every experience teaches me something new. I stay open to new ideas, always looking for ways to evolve and improve.

Resilience has been another key factor in my journey. Setbacks happen, but I don’t let them define me. I push forward, adapting and finding new ways to succeed. But I also know that success isn’t just about personal achievements—it’s about the people around me. I thrive in collaboration, recognizing that my success is deeply connected to my team’s success. That’s why I live by the philosophy of Ubuntu: “I am because we are.”

This mindset has helped me navigate my career, build strong relationships, and create meaningful impact. And as I continue my journey, I know that embracing challenges, learning relentlessly, and lifting others up will always be at the heart of my success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career in technology has been an exciting journey—one that started with my education in Software Engineering at San Jose State University (SJSU) and led me to become part of Los Angeles’ growing tech scene.

I began my career as a software engineer, working with companies in industries ranging from e-commerce to lead generation. Back then, Los Angeles was just emerging as Silicon Beach, a rising hub for startups and innovation. It was an exciting yet challenging time, as e-commerce was still evolving, and businesses were figuring out how to establish a strong digital presence. I had the privilege of helping many companies build and scale their early web platforms, navigating the complexities of online growth in those foundational years.

My background in developing scalable and robust software architectures proved to be a crucial advantage. It allowed me to design and implement solutions that not only met immediate business needs but also positioned companies for long-term success. As I gained experience, I became more involved in building high-performing technology teams, shaping strategies, and driving innovation within the organizations I worked with.

Looking back, it has been a rewarding experience to be part of the tech evolution in Los Angeles and to contribute to companies striving to make their mark in the industry. My journey is far from over, and I continue to embrace new challenges, build cutting-edge solutions, and mentor the next generation of engineers who will shape the future of technology.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Los Angeles, I’d make sure they experienced the best of what this city has to offer—starting with a perfect blend of sun, sand, amazing food, and unforgettable views.

Any trip to LA has to start with a walk on the beach. There’s something about the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves that sets the perfect tone for a great time. For seafood lovers, I’d take them straight to San Pedro Fish Market in Long Beach, where they can enjoy fresh seafood straight from the grill. After that, we’d head to Ballast Point nearby for some craft beers with a great waterfront view—because nothing beats good food and drinks by the ocean.

Of course, no visit to LA is complete without a stop at Venice Beach. Whether it’s people-watching, grabbing some street food, or just soaking in the lively atmosphere, Venice always delivers a unique experience. The food and drink scene there is solid, so we’d definitely find a great spot to kick back and relax.

To end the day on a high note, I’d take them to The Strand House in Manhattan Beach for a sunset dinner. There’s nothing quite like watching the sun dip into the Pacific while enjoying a great meal and drinks. It’s the perfect way to wrap up an LA adventure—great vibes, stunning views, and an unforgettable experience.

Los Angeles has so much to offer, but for me, the best way to show someone around is through good food, good drinks, and the beauty of the coast. It’s the kind of experience that makes people fall in love with this city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Success is never a solo journey, and mine is no exception. If I had to dedicate my success to the forces that shaped me, three stand out: my parents, my wife, and the countless books that expanded my mind and perspective.

I was born in a small town called Ratlam, India, where my journey began. From the very start, my parents played an instrumental role in shaping who I am today. Their unwavering support and encouragement laid the foundation for my ambitions, giving me the confidence to dream big and chase those dreams with determination. Without their guidance, I wouldn’t have had the courage to navigate my path from that small town to becoming a tech leader in Los Angeles.

The second major influence in my life is my wife. She has been my rock, my biggest supporter, and at times, my toughest challenger—pushing me to be the best version of myself. Her unwavering belief in me and her unconditional love have given me the strength to face any challenge, both personally and professionally. Knowing that she always has my back has made all the difference.

And then, there are the books. I firmly believe that knowledge is one of the greatest tools for success, and throughout my journey, books have been my mentors. Titles like Start with Why by Simon Sinek, Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, and A Promised Land by Barack Obama have shaped my thinking, broadened my perspective, and inspired me to lead with purpose and resilience.

Success is rarely a destination—it’s a journey shaped by the people and experiences along the way. For me, it’s my parents, my wife, and the wealth of wisdom I’ve absorbed from books that have propelled me forward. And as I continue my path, I remain grateful for the lessons, love, and knowledge that have guided me every step of the way.
