We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Lyndon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The mantra I AM ENOUGH was originally created in 2003 during one of my opening lectures to one of my how to audition classes. I found that the reason why many of my students were having a hard time booking an acting job was because they felt a constant wave of judgment whenever they walked into an audition room. They seemed to always be looking for approval to tell them that they were good enough to work. I soon learned that feeling the power within was a huge component to booking acting jobs. Instilling confidence with a technique that worked along with a constant building up of their power within, helped my students book exponentially. So, when covid19 came, I felt it was an opportunity to build my brand I AM ENOUGH and finally get it out to the world. The “I Am Enough Collection” is a daily reminder that you can live the life you deserve because you are strong enough, you are smart enough, you are worthy enough, you are confident enough, you are talented enough, you are beautiful enough… YOU are enough. Every time you wear anything or use anything from my collection you will be reminded of the power within and that you are enough exactly as you are. Your life’s purpose and your dreams are limitless because YOU are Enough! Believe it. Live it. Wear it. Stand up and be counted! Say it LOUD. Say it PROUD to the world, “I AM ENOUGH EXACTLY AS I AM!” ❤

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, “The Lyndon Technique: A 15 Guideline Map To Booking” has proven to be an Actor’s secret weapon. It dispels the myths of the audition process and provides the Actor with an effective, straightforward approach to nailing their auditions and booking the job. It helps them study smarter, feel empowered in their auditions and always know what they are doing. “The Lyndon Technique” has turned out 50+ students as Network Series Regulars, an Emmy Award Winner and an Imagen Award Winner. I was voted one of the “Top Audition Technique Teachers” by Backstage.com for 4 years, my book was nominated by the Reader’s Choice at Backstage.com as a top acting book proudly sitting alongside Stella Adler, Sandford Meisner and Michael Shurleff’s books. I also ran the column “Ask Amy” for Castittalent.com and was an Expert Writer for Backstage.com for over two years. I am proud to say that “The Lyndon Technique” is part of the curriculum at the University of Kansas and was part of “Aaron Sorkin Week” through Syracuse University. I have had the opportunity to travel all over the United States and parts of Canada conducting intensives and lecturing about how to make it in the acting world teaching my Technique, helping Actors understand the philosophical principals of booking and teaching the importance and application of marketing and business strategies. I always say to my students, “If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.” And I also say, “The only way you don’t make it, is if you quit.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Inn of The Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon, Paradise Cove in Malibu, day trip to Ojai, Aroma Cafe’ for breakfast in Studio City, see a play at The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine on Sunset Blvd, biking along the beach in Santa Monica and a Venice Beach Brunch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The late Rachel Kae deserves a huge shout out. When Hollywood thought I was too old to make it at 27, Rachel signed me to her management company Transworld Entertainment and transformed my entire career. She believed in me. She always had a game plan for me. She taught me marketing and never wavered from her support. She would give me greeting cards to constantly remind me that I could do it and to not give up. I must have booked at least 12 projects when I was managed by her. She moved me straight up to Recurring Guest Star level and beyond. She was unfortunately taken from us way too soon. I miss her energy, friendship and love for all the actors that she represented.
