We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Piper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my business as a practitioner of Emotional Freedom Techniques originated from a direct experience with this transformational work. I was a client for several years before pursuing training and certification in these techniques that can transform you with a quickness. Patterns, old belief systems, and obstacles can be released and cleared. My passion for this business comes from a desire to share these techniques with as many people as I can.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My formal education is as a speech-language pathologist; I completed my Master’s in speech sciences and embarked on this career nearly 20 years ago. I enjoyed working with people, specializing in the area of brain injury/trauma within speech pathology, however, I often felt that something was missing. I was working primarily with people who had experienced a traumatic event, as part of a rehab team of professionals. When I encountered EFT (tapping), I realized this was the piece that had been missing. EFT has the power to heal traumatic experiences/memories that are held in the body and energy system. Releasing these traumas/painful experiences can have a profound effect on one’s health. Starting a new business definitely has had its challenges! I was accustomed to going to work and being handed a caseload of patients. Learning how to market myself and sharing what I can offer people, to take part in their own healing, has required me to show up and really be seen. There is no hiding when you own your own business! My passion for this work continues to be the driving force to expand my career in EFT.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ahhh I love visitors! Being from the midwest (Michigan), I endured long winters.  So here in LA, I am enjoying the outdoors as much as possible! I always take my guests on a few of my favorite hikes. A ride up the coast to Malibu is a must; my favorite hikes are in the canyons of Malibu with coastal views. Latigo canyon is my all time favorite. After a hike, stopping by Malibu Farm Pier Cafe is the best. For some quality beach time, I adore Matador beach. It has amazing caves and cliffs to explore and appreciate this gorgeous coast. I also love to take guest on a walk up and down Abbot Kinney to experience the fun Venice vibes and then dinner at my favorite restaurant: Plant Food and Wine. Lastly, sunset at Griffith Park always makes the list. I tend to hang on the west side, since I’m in Santa Monica, but this is 100% worth the trip across town!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentor, Rob Nelson, of Tapping The Matrix Academy. Rob has provided hours of training and mentorship in this transformational work, sharing his knowledge of the powerful techniques of EFT (tapping). He is also the author of “Hacking Reality | Upgrade Your Life From the Inside Out. ”
