We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Seban and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been an entrepreneur at heart! I strive to be the best and most professional individual in any industry I work in and it has always frustrated me to have to sit and wait for others to complete a job when in the corporate world. What I love about being a business owner is the fact that I control my destiny. The more you put into your business the more you get out of it and it is very rewarding watching your employees grow alongside of you.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been an entrepreneur my entire adult life. After graduating from University of California San Diego with a Psychology degree, I realized my true passion was being an entrepreneur. Over the past 15 years I developed multiple entrepreneurial ventures including, but not limited to, single handedly opening a brick and mortar Amazing Lash Studio franchise location with an average of 15-20 employees.

Looking back through my experience of finding, buying, and building a franchise location, I found myself wishing I had a franchise broker who assisted me in finding out what I was walking into. Having a non-biased set of eyes explaining work life balance, goals of my personal and professional life, and a day in the life as it relates to each brand would have helped me make a better decision in what brand I wanted to buy into. I started researching the different franchise brokerage firms to become associated with and found Business Alliance Inc to join and learn the ins and outs of the franchise consulting industry. Now I am able to use my experiences of owning a franchise and going through the process of deciding which brand to buy into that I am able to bring true value to others who are pursuing their dream of business ownership.

I have personally walked in your shoes and understands the excitement, fear and unknown of buying a franchise business and everything that goes along with it. My excitement for helping people find their true passion and execute is second to none and I cannot wait to help you start on this journey to financial and personal freedom.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love being outdoors and taking in the views of the city. You cannot visit LA without taking a hike up Runyon Canyon or Griffith Park for sure! I also think the Grove is a must especially around the holidays for a quick bite, shopping and people watching, One full day would also definitely be spent in Santa Monica visiting the boardwalk and the promenade as there is so much to see in that part of the city and so different from the Hollywood scene.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am very blessed to have loving and supportive parents that have always been my biggest cheerleaders. Although they grew up in the time of working a stable 9-5 career they always encouraged me to go after my dreams and do what I loved.
