We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastacia Anastascio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anastacia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business in 2020 during the pandemic when everything was shut down and I was holed up in my studio day in and day out. I was getting very antsy, and was craving something more. I spent the majority of my time on social media, as I’m assuming most others did too. I came across a witchy woman doing Pick-a-Card readings on Instagram, and I thought, “I could do that too.” I ordered my first deck, and giving readings brought me so much joy and I felt I could really make a business for myself. I was miserable in my job as a middle school teacher, and I always knew that I had an entrepreneurial spirit. This business idea just fell into my lap and I ran so far with it!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business fit me like a glove. I did not have any trouble in starting it, and everything came so effortlessly and naturally, as if this were exactly where I am supposed to be. After discovering my spiritual gifts and awakening my ability to help others on a 1:1 level, I reached out to a podcast that was giving free ad space to women in color. When I wrote into Guys We F**ked, the podcast, my business skyrocketed. Both hosts joined my spiritual coaching program that I was piloting with them, and I started to get a lot of interest in my business. If it weren’t for them, I don’t know where I would be today. I’ve seen a lot of success come from this ad, and I put a lot of work into cultivating lasting relationships with my clients. So many of my clients from 3 years ago are still working with me to this day! This is what I feel sets me apart from others in the business. I have created a Facebook community that is dedicated to personal growth and development that everyone who has worked with me in the past can join. We meet multiple times a month, and we go to retreats together. Monthly, we meet for New Moon and Full Moon Ceremonies, bi-weekly meditation, weekly yoga, and special workshops. It’s such an honor to have cultivated such an awesome community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is a hub of such wonderful nooks and secret hideaways. There are so many cute coffee shops and bookstores. I love visiting the coffee shops of Santa Monica and strolling the boardwalk all of the way to Venice Beach. I would definitely start the week by the beach, buying some cool art work or getting tarot readings from the street psychics. The next day, I’d stroll through the valley and hang out around NoHo. We’d start with pie and coffee from Republic of Pie, then have some happy hour cocktails at Idle Hour or The Federal Bar. Afterwards, we’d go to one of the comedy clubs for some laughs! I’d also love to spend a day around Malibu, cruising down the PCH where we stumble across a winery in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize all of the brave women who shared their stories with me and joined my coaching program. They opened up about themselves, and trusted me in a way that was so vulnerable and open. These women have allowed me to help transform their lives, believing in themselves, and helping me to see that I have the ability to wake people up so that they can accomplish their dreams. I dedicate this shoutout to them (and the single man who has gone through my spiritual coaching program too!).
