We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Mollinedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was to go ALL IN and have a great culture. I believe half the battle is committing to what you started and sticking to it. Most businesses fail within the first 2 years. Having a huge vision and mission to set out what you want do too will help you endlessly. You must believe in yourself, your product and or service, on what you set out to do in the market place. Having company events, empowering people, creating a winning environment within the organization is something we always had planned.
What should our readers know about your business?
Getting to where we are today, took some time, but still feels like we started yesterday. It was definitely not easy, especially when you are starting from 0. We did endless amounts of research on the market, competitors, and consumers. The pre construction and construction industry has left lots of people with a bad taste in their mouth. You hear horror stories of contractors not finishing jobs on time, delays, change orders, and lot of missing information that leaves customers unhappy. We wanted to be the light and the end of tunnel and provide everyone with one-stop-shop solution where you can get architectural designs, construction services, transparency, and education. Our virtual service model will result in affordable pricing with superior turnaround times 20% lower than the industry standard. Helping out the global workforce is a huge plus for the business. We are fortunate to not only provide opportunity for the workforce in the states, but also around the world too. Next Generation Builders(GENZ) is starting with ADU’s also known as tiny homes or backyard homes. This will provide people with the ability to gain more space or cash flow by renting out the unit we build them. There’s a huge housing crises in California and as prices continue to go up it makes it difficult for someone to purchase a new home. Most people that have lived in there for home 10, 20 years can’t afford the home they live in today. ADU’s are the solution for someone to not have to relocate if they needed more space.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The LA vibes are amazing, it’s definitely hard to leave especially being born and raised here. Enjoying great views is something I admire a lot. The building I live in really gives you a taste of Hollywood. I’ll go to the rooftop with a friend, grab a cup of coffee, sight view and take it in. Working out is a big regimen of mine. We would definitely have to get a workout in. My favorite gym thus far is Equinox. The environment, cleanliness, and smoothies are a must have. Angler restuarant is definitely a place I love going too. The experience there is phenomenal, my go to is the caviar and pancakes. It’s a little on the pricey side, but well worth it and somewhere I would take someone.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Personal Development has been a huge factor in my success. Always remaining coachable and a student of growth will be something I will continuously do. One of my favorite reads that I would recommend to everyone is, “How to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie. An audio book that I listen to religiously is, “The way of the wolf” by Jordan Belfort. You cannot go wrong with those two.
