We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Choi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Test
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m one of the co-founders of the SoCal Development Group, we help homeowners in various situations across Southern California and we purchase the properties in ‘as in’ condition. Usually the home owners will have financial issues, deferred maintenance, or a bad tenant. We make it easy for our sellers and help them in all different types of situations. Once we purchase the property we remodel it head to toe and list it on the market for a new family to enjoy. I’m proud of the progress my team has made over the last two years, and particularly proud of the unexpected growth we’ve experienced these last few months.
This did not happen overnight, one of the challenges I had to overcome was learning how to run a successful business and transform myself to become the best leader possible. I made great sacrifices working 18-hour days, 7 days a week, and learned from my mentors and coaches to continuously improve and ensure I was in the best shape possible to lead each business. We have been putting in the work to create world-class businesses, and that alone sets us apart. My team and I are in it for the long run and have put in our blood, sweat and tears to work on the multi-million dollar deals we now have.
Our state-of-the-art business management systems have created a well-oiled machine and have been the driving force behind our success. We do not allow anything to fall through the cracks, and we work with an all-star team that holds each other accountable to get to the next level.
I want the world to know that the SoCal Development Group is here to serve you. Our team of real estate experts will cater the sales process for you and make it stress-free. We handle various situations including foreclosure, inherited properties and more.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A fun week out in LA includes these three musts:
1. A boat ride off Marina Del Rey on a warm, sunny day is one of my go-to’s when my friends are in town. Always make sure to check the weather and bring some drinks and finger foods to keep you fueled throughout our trip. Don’t be fooled by the sun because it can become very chilly once you are out in open waters, and you will most likely need a jacket.
2. Lunch or dinner in Downtown Los Angeles! LA offers a variety of exclusive eats for wide range pallets. Some of my favorites include:
2A. Joey Restaurant in DTLA, it’s a globally inspired restaurant with a diverse menu that includes sushi cuisine to steak dishes. Joey Restaurant’s dishes are truly unique and a must try while in Los Angeles. I do highly recommend making reservations at least a week or two in advance to secure the time frame and seating area you prefer.
2B. Soowon Galbi KBBQ Restaurant is other go-to favorite spot in Los Angeles. Make sure to get there early around 5 p.m. to secure a table, unfortunately they do not take reservations. The first thing you’ll want to order will be the Seng Deung Shim which is a boneless short rib that’s incredibly tender, trust me when i say it’ll melt in your mouth. For an additional $5 you can order lettuce wraps to wrap the meat and make a Korean taco. Get creative and add any side dish for your Korean taco and get a burst of flavor with every bite. Once the meat is devoured, you’ll want to order Soowon Galbi which are short ribs marinated over their signature house sauce for 48 hours and end it with a bowl of cold noodles of Neng Myun or some warm Doen Jang Stew with porridge.
3. Enjoy a rooftop pool day with breathtaking views of Los Angele’s skyline! This is a must if you are in town for a short amount of time. There are plenty of restaurants and lounges that also offer incredible views of the city. I’m fortunate enough to have these perks at my home, which make hosting friends over a breeze. A quick Yelp or Google will help you discover some top-notch spots.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank my team at SoCal Development group for putting the work non-stop and taking us all the way to the top!
