We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelique Rosser and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angelique, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I began my business as a way to help me deal with the challenges of covid. So, I thought to myself what can I do to maintain my mental wellness outside of my full-time employment. (2) I do try and budget and make sure that I separate business income from employment income. Spending decisions are made based the need of merchandise for business needs, I try to decipher between needs and wants. (3). Taking risk are a part of life. I believe taking risk help you grow as a person, if you don’t take the risk you will wonder if it would have been worth it. (4.) My end goal is to remain humble no matter which way life takes me. Professionally I want to grow as a social worker while still maintaining the balance of having a small business.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Professionally, I am motivated to be the best social worker that I can be. I have been in the industry of providing assistance through leadership; providing therapy; community resources and overall listening ear for over 20 years now. And the journey has and its ups and downs and increased challenges, however I have always tried to make the best out of any situation. Being in this field I have seen individuals at their best and their worse, always keeping in mind that I am here to help not to judge anyone. I created Bling Bottles by Nique as a way to keep my own creative juices flowing, and of course I love the response to my merchandise. If I have learned anything along the way, it is to remain humble. The only thing separating us from one another are the choices we make in life, and I choose to remain who I am…I AM ME that doesn’t make me better than anyone but it makes me one of a kind.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am visiting Disneyland; Going Bowling; Having drinks; meeting up with my sister circle; cooking a traditional soul food meal that includes yams w/marshmallows and we are definitely relaxing poolside in the sun. We are shopping at the mall; having lunch at a mom-and-pop restaurant and we are going bike riding on the beach. We are enjoying life and going whichever the way the wind blows because who needs an itinerary when you can be spontaneous looking back in a couple of years saying remember when…
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would personally like to thank my husband, who is my rock -my stability-my better half- my motivation behind what I do. Even if I fail at something he always encourages me to try again and take my time, make my vision happen. My family for acknowledging who I am and appreciating what I do, continuing to be a part of my accomplishments. Lastly, I would like to thank my sister circle, my lifelines that have been a part of my journey, continuing to be my cheering squad my silent partners through my journey.
