Meet Angy Chin | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angy Chin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angy, is there something you believe many others might not?
In adversity your character is built.
Most people believe that in the midst of adversity, one’s character is built. But I truly believe that in the midst of adversity, one’s character is revealed.
Just like one cannot learn to shoot for the first time in war. We have to learn and practice before war, and when we are in it, we just shoot.
Similarly, we have to be cognizant in building up our character before adversity. When we are in one, we just have to use what we have learned to help us pull through it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Backoffice support for small or mid size companies. No business is easy. Work is 24-7 & it never really stops. Client’s emergency, pain, anxiety, growth needs, capital needs etc etc all become part of my company’s issue to deal with. Feeling passionate about my work & the difference it makes in other peoples life essential to overcome challenges, especially in the midst of pandemic. Lessons learned along the way is be versatile, be dynamic. We can plan for the best, but must also be able to cope with the worst. Be positive, be passionate, be present, and for me, pray pray pray.
BIC Group does backoffice support for small to mid-size companies. Backoffice support includes, accounting, finance, HR, Legal etc. I have a team working as fractional CFO, Controller, FP&A Director, HR Director etc. We do everything from board advisory work, setting growth strategy, to doing mergers & acquisitions, getting loans and increasing credit lines etc, ultimately to improve profits and performance. We also support business owners in exit strategy, from IPO to sale to publicly traded company or private equity company etc. Every support is custom-made for each client. It’s not a one-size fits all, as each business owners wants & needs are different.
No business is easy. My team and I work pretty much 24-7 & it never really stops. Client’s emergency, pain, anxiety, growth needs, capital needs etc etc all become part of my company’s issue to deal with.
What sets BIC apart from others is I am extremely passionate about my work & the difference it makes in other people’s life. I want to make an impact; not just a checklist. And of course, helping my clients overcome challenges, especially in the midst of pandemic, was a calling.
Lessons learned along the way is to be versatile, to be dynamic, not just to think outside the box, but why even have a box???
We can plan for the best but we must be prepared for the worst.
Being positive, passionate, present, persistent are my daily bread, and for me, also pray pray pray.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s not what I want to show them but what they want to see or do. Each person is different. If they have no preference, I’ll take them to my favorite local Asian restaurants; not chain type. Catalina island or Channel Islands are beautiful for hiking. Petersen museum if they like cars. Beach cities area for seafood & sunset viewing. Before pandemic, I would consider museum & theme parks etc. now no, too crowded.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
