Meet Ann-Christin Brune | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann-Christin Brune and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ann-Christin, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’ve learned that the artistic path isn’t always bright or easy. There are times of struggle and uncertainty — but those moments are opportunities for growth.
Seeing challenges as chances to become stronger and better has shaped both my mindset and my art. One of the main themes in my work is this: There is a strength, an inner light within you. You just have to believe in it, use it to overcome struggles, and let it guide you toward transforming your world for the better.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What began as a simple hobby quickly turned into a true vocation. As I developed my technical skills and discovered my own artistic voice, there came a moment when I just knew — this is my purpose.
Through my art, I can share my message with the world and reach people on a deep emotional level. Seeing someone moved to joyful tears by one of my paintings is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences I can imagine.
My work stands out through the fusion of natural themes with modern techniques. I combine mixed media with refined oil painting, intentionally breaking traditional rules to create something new and expressive.
At the core of my art is my belief in the vibrant, colorful beauty of nature. My purpose is to bring that beauty onto the canvas and inspire people to believe in themselves — to be strong, powerful, and to make the world a better place.
I’m deeply proud of having pushed through all obstacles and doubts, breaking free from old habits and limitations to become a better version of myself. This growth has allowed me to create powerful works of art that truly reflect who I am.
Even now, when I stand in front of my paintings, I sometimes can’t believe that I created them. It fills me with pride and gratitude to be able to say, I did this.

Through my art, I want people to rediscover the preciousness of nature that surrounds us. I hope to inspire others to protect it, cherish it, and draw strength from it.
Nature holds light even in the darkest times — it gives hope when everything seems to fall apart. My wish is that my art encourages people to see that light, to feel that hope, and to become the best version of themselves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Tokyo! Tokyo is a must-see for anyone seeking a city that perfectly blends frantic, modern energy with a quiet, traditional core, ensuring a full spectrum of unforgettable experiences.
Some of my recommendations:
Visit/Experience: Start at Shibuya Crossing, the most heavily trafficked pedestrian intersection in the world. View this “organized chaos” from an elevated spot (like Shibuya Sky) to fully grasp the symbolic pulse of modern Tokyo.
Hangout: Explore the fashion and youth culture of Harajuku and walk down Takeshita Street.
Eat/Drink: Enjoy vibrant street food (like crepes or takoyaki) in Harajuku, followed by dinner in the hip Shibuya area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Eli Milan — I owe much of my artistic journey and sense of purpose to Elli Milan and the Milan Art Institute in Florida. Elli’s approach to teaching — not just the technical aspects, but also how to discover your own voice and style — gave me the confidence to stay true to my path and overcome any challenge.
She helped me connect with my true self, find meaning in my life, and gather the courage to share my art and my vision of nature with the world.
