We had the good fortune of connecting with April Davidson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was a fashion photographer and I always noticed that some makeup artists had quite a few different make up brands that they used. I decided to create my own line that I can give to the make-up artists that I hired for shoots. I have had my brand since 2013 and it has been an ever evolving wonderful roller coaster if changes. I am confident in my products, I have a great following. I have celebrities dawning my brand on the red carpet and some times I have to pinch myself that this dream of mine is a reality

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In 2010 I had an emergency surgery that changed my life. I had to change everything about my life including my career. I started doing photography as a hobby and then fell in love with fashion photography. My grandmother used to be a designer and I think that interest was passed down to me. I was always blown away how make up artists could transform models. I then became interested into the make up world and merged both my passion for fashion photography and makeup. Trixie B Cosmetics was born 2013! I want to thank all of my Trixie B family who have supported my company for all of these years if it wasn’t for you, I would be here writing my story here for this amazing article

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Hermosa Beach where they can see how gorgeous and fun the beach is. I would then take them to West Hollywood where I would take them to TOMTOM Restaurant and see Lisa Vanderpumps exquisit taste and style

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank 2 dear friends of mine who are power houses in the entertainment industry and befriended me and believed in my company.
