Meet Ariana Kaufman | Multimedia artist, animal whisperer, magician.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Kaufman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It has become more clear to me that we are all born with a deep knowing of how we move through the world and understand it. For me, art has always been the key to processing my day and understanding relationships. Although, I do not have a “successful” career I have made it part of my daily journey to make art in some capacity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being an actor is already sensitive work, but when you have rejection after rejection it can kill us softly and deeply. So I decided to not wait for a yes and create a film I wanted to see in the world. We are almost finished and I can’t be more pleased with how it is tuning out. I say to everyone who wants to make art, do not wait for anyone to give you permission. Just go do it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Woodlands Indian restaurant, 3rd and Lindsey to watch the Time Jumpers, rhino bookstore for used books, headquarters coffee, and a film at the belcourt.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Every living organism on my little farm inspires me every single day. Watching how the wind moves the branches gives me ideas for visuals. Watching my donkey roll in the mud and wild animals react to their surroundings give me movement ideas when I dance. Thank you to life.
