We had the good fortune of connecting with Arisq and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arisq, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The way I think about risk is that it is absolutely inevitable. In my life risks have been the main character in my story in such a way that if I hadn’t taken any risks I wouldn’t have moved from the east coast to the west, I wouldn’t be as far along as I am in music. No risk no story.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a singer/Song writer and what sets me apart from others is that I’m relentless. I will not settle for anything less than perfect and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to get it right. Today I’m most proud of how consistent my motivation and dedication has been to continue pursuing my dreams despite all the closed doors. I’m in the position I am because I’ve always went where the opportunities were which encouraged me to moved to LA. None of my journey has been easy until now every time I ran into a dead end I always say to myself “When one door closes another opens” and I always believe in the possibility that the next door can lead me exactly where I want to be. Along the way I’ve learned that It doesn’t matter if anyone sees your vision, As long as you see you see it. I would like to let the world know that I have big dreams and an even bigger heart I am a product of my environment that I can’t wait to share my music with you all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had friends visiting I would first take them hiking thought Griffith Park. After we would stop at Frosty Queen for some amazing comfort food. The next day I would take them for a walk on the Malibu coast followed by Tatsu Ramen. After I would follow up with A day in Santa Monica at the pier and Alberta for dinner to finish the night off. The next day I would stop by Park Pantry in Long Beach followed by First Class Watersports for some Jetski Riding. After that I would take a tripe up north for some Apple picking an Cider! I’m a huge foodie so I know all the spots! But that’s what a typical week would look like depending on the time of year.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Firstly I want to thank Steve Higgs. All around incredible person, He gave me a chance to make my dream a reality when no one would. I would also like to thank Jontae Breckenridge for believing in me and my music from day one always introducing me to anyone that he believed that could help. Lastly I would like to thank Mike Bhand for giving me this opportunity to be apart of this interview and “Shout out interviews” journey.
