We had the good fortune of connecting with Armani Fountain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Armani, how do you think about risk?
As the saying goes, the greater the risk, the greater the reward. I believe you can be successful whether you have a low risk tolerance or a high risk tolerance. I think the main difference is the outcome you can achieve depending on how big the risk is. That doesn’t mean all big risk will automatically give you a reward. It just means that if you’re up at bat and you’re consistently going for home runs, though you may strike out a few times, at some point you’ll hit one.

Taking risk has played a big role in my life, but I see it more as taking on uncomfortable challenges in order to grow personally and professionally. I’ve ventured into new states and cities for better opportunities, started creating content without a clear roadmap, and consistently push myself out of my comfort zone to address my weaknesses and develop.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
By day, I’m a pharmaceutical sales rep, by night, I’m a content creator who gives career and interview advice. Interview preparation was one of the hardest skills I had to learn. The most exciting part about creating this content is that I get a chance to give advice to my younger, less experienced self. Getting a job can be difficult and highly competitive. I want to help people highlight and articulate their story (work history) so they can let their experience shine!

How I got to where I’m at today was just trying different things to see what worked for me and to ultimately see what would have a positive impact on people. The biggest challenge for me was simply figuring out my purpose. I’ve started a clothing line, tried my hand at fashion influencing, comedy content, etc. While all these things seemingly failed from an outside perspective, I was developing a skillset that built the foundation for my career and interview content. But the most important lesson I learned is that nothing special can happen if you don’t take action.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the beach so if my best friend was in town I would definitely take them to the South Bay. There’s so much to do there whether its simply hanging out on the beach, playing volleyball, getting food and drinks or going to a concert or show. I could spend an entire week showing them this area.

One of my favorite restaurants is in Hermosa Beach called Palmilla. Palmilla is a Mexican restaurant that has amazing food and drinks that always keep me coming back. And on top of it all, all of their locations have pretty cool architecture!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The two people I will forever shoutout are my parents. Growing up, I saw the hard work my parents put in to give my sister and me the life that we had. When I was younger, they made everything look so easy that it seemed like they enjoyed it all. As an adult with responsibilities and my own family, I now know that definitely wasn’t the case. Work can be hard. Day-to-day responsibilities can be hard. Life can be hard. But if you don’t step up to the plate and tackle things even though you don’t want to, you have to realize that absolutely no one is coming to save you. My parents have played a huge role in my work ethic, and it’s all because they led by example.

I also want to give a shoutout to my wife. She was there from the beginning of my content creation journey and has been very supportive through it all. Balancing work, creating content, and a relationship can be difficult, but I was fortunate enough to find someone who is right there with me every step of the way!
