We had the good fortune of connecting with Arnie Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arnie, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I believe not caring what people think at all is a genuine superpower in todays world of mass opinions. Always staying true to your word and delivering punctually will rank highly with people around you. Take risks and never settle for scraps, you’re likely to impress even yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I needed to be a fly on the wall for a bit to understand how everything fits together in the music business. After a couple years of being able to observe such successful artists in the studio; I’m now more than confident to take the bet on myself.

I’m going to connect to as many people as I can before I’m gone, I started making music because of artists who made me feel okay when I felt I wasn’t; and if I can make someone feel just a little bit better, I’m winning.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now that I’ve been here a couple years its less about specific tourist places and more about time spent with my friends and family that visit. I might take them hiking on the Griffith Park paths, the beach, or quite possibly any of the absolute bomb food trucks around me. Growing up in the north was honestly a bit restricting with the amount of things you could do without driving a few hours to another state. So anything they wouldn’t normally have access to, is usually where I’d bring them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I could shout out anyone I’d be my grandfather. He taught me guitar, brought me to my first concerts, and would constantly have music playing throughout the house every day. Looking back at it he was the one that taught me life has no rules and that I could do anything I wanted. He’s a big reason I’m the artist that I am today.
