We had the good fortune of connecting with Arnold Kalsians and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arnold, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I first came to United States, I started working at a company that sold window covering products. From there I was recruited by one of the customers to join their team. Unfortunately, the owner passed away a few months after I had started working there. The owner’s wife decided to close the business, and that formed an idea in my mind! I can do this business, I am familiar with the products, can do the work, and know the industry.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Marvel Ind., Inc. was founded in 1990 with the goal of having the best customer service and, best prices in the industry. We have been able to achieve our goals, due to our hard work and ethics. We have streamlined our production and cut costs, without cutting the quality, and passed the savings onto our customers. Along the way, we have had our share of ups and downs, and our momentous achievements, and continued our journey to advancements. It has not been easy, but we have been able to do it. We have worked hard, long hours and weekends, but I wouldn’t change anything. I am proud of my company and what sets us apart from the rest. We care about our customers, and it shows in everything we do. That is the reason our customers have stayed with us throughout all these years.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If they are visiting from another country, we will be visiting San Francisco, Santa Barbara and San Diego. We will of course be visiting Las Vegas there are a few restaurants and places I like and I am certain my friend will have a blast as well. Around Los Angeles, we will of course visit Hollywood, and go to Beverly Hills for lunch at Spago. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My son, Ryan, he has been the biggest support in my business! My partner of 20 years left the business, and that left a large vacant spot in my company. Ryan stepped in without any hesitation and went right to work. He has proven time and time again, that he is someone that can be depended on and trusted 100%. I am very proud of the person he has become.
Other: We are a wholesale company, and social media is not out platform. We do conventions and trade shows.
