Meet Arutyun Gozukuchikyan | Artist/muralist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Arutyun Gozukuchikyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arutyun, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Following my passion and what I was born to do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I was born in Armenia in 1982. In 1988, my family made the difficult decision to migrate, seeking new opportunities and stability in the wake of political and economic challenges.
From a young age art became a constant source of expression and identity. As I grew older, I found myself drawn to large-scale works—murals that could tell stories, evoke emotions, and transform public spaces into staples of the community. Over the years, I’ve become known for my ability to blend bold colors, and meaningful narratives into my work.
While my career is fulfilling, my greatest masterpiece is my family. I embrace the challenge of balancing my artistic ambitions with fatherhood. I would want the world to know that my art is very personal to me. Every piece holds emotion, all of my struggles, growth, and truth. I create to inspire feelings. My story isn’t finished yet, it is still unfolding, but the heart of it is passion.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend was visiting, I would take them to Laguna beach where we would spend time at the beach, visit art galleries, and eat amazing food. Back in Los Angeles, we would sight see Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Venice Beach.
Some of my favorite restaurants are: All’ Antico Vinaio for sandwiches, Mama Hongs for Pho, Houston’s for steak.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give recognition to my parents for the unconditional love, my wife for always holding down the fort with our three children, and my friends for always encouraging me.
