We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashleigh Dawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashleigh, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was no one is doing this so I should! It was more like see a need fill a need!
What should our readers know about your business?
As the owner of R2R I have gone through the school of hard nocks of sustainability. When I was Younger I was labeled dyslexic, this came with many challenges throughout my life. In business communication is key, and when you are dyslexic the written communication is not so easy.
I had to convince myself I was even smart enough to start my own company. You know how I did that? By just doing it. If I could let anyone who is reading this that wants to start their own community or organization, I’d want to say, but do it. Go for it, what do you have to loos? Maybe everything, but that’s ok, because you are strong enough to handle getting back up!
Every time you hear the word you can’t then think over them with you can thoughts. I know the work I’m doing with my nonprofit will pay off in the end., maybe not with wealth but with knowledge and experience for sure!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hermosa beach the peer. Then waste less shop for essentials, earth cafe, maybe habitat coffee in eagle rock and idk so many other spots.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Neighbor2neighbor or Prostainable are two brands I would love to shoutout!
