We had the good fortune of connecting with Bailey Kucura and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bailey, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career because sewing is my passion and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else for the rest of my life. Being creative is what I love to do, and I’m so grateful that I was able to make a career out of this!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Getting started was definitely challenging because I taught myself how to sew via YouTube videos. It was a fun experience but at the same time requires a lot of patience. I worked through the frustrations and reaped the rewards! Now I sew Fanny packs, backpacks, makeup bags, pencil cases and scrunchies. I use different and unique fabrics that pop out! I like to have many trending fabrics in stock so that my customers can have a variety to choose from.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would recommend grabbing lunch at Riley’s in Belmont shore. They have an amazing jalapeno burger. After lunch, a nice hike at the Abalone cove trails in Palos Verdes while looking over the ocean, and then end at my favorite local spot, Sorrento’s, for a torpedo sandwich!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would’ve never got to where I am in my business without my Family and friends supporting and pushing me to keep going to achieve this dream!
