Meet Belle Vex | Musical Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Belle Vex and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Belle, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I’m not sure. I think everyone has their own internal notification system that kind of just tells them when the time is right. I think it’s harder for creatives, because you never really quit creating. That said, if something does start to get in the way of living a fulfilled life or if you would just rather do nothing, then that’s probably a clear sign.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I never really had a plan. When I started, I had nothing, but over time, I built a collection of songs and reviews. There’s no magic formula for success, just ways to improve your chances. I’ve dealt with people trying to cheat me, had my songs copied, and even lost money and credit for my work, but I kept moving forward. Through all this, I’ve learned to trust my instincts and be an artist. I know what’s important to me and what I find best to stay away from. Something I would like for people to know is that I don’t aim to be an online personality. Sure, I could make short form videos and share music tips to grow my social media. That’s just a script to follow, but then I would eventually become reliant on that. I want to be real and unique, not just someone whose whole livelihood depends on a follower count. I can’t say it’s not tough this way, but this is why I move the way I do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Paramount Pictures lot is probably the first place I’d take them. That left a pretty positive impression on me. Other than that, I’d just visit the people I’ve met last time I was out there as well as those that I’ve met from there. Maybe go to some diners. I’m pretty low key when it comes to things like this.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s too many and I’d like to shout them all out, but I’m just going to take this opportunity to name a few. There’s Storm PR. Andy and his team at HIP Video, Harry Burr, and Vladimir Pierre-Charles, and last but not least, Steve. Big thanks. Big shoutout.
