Meet Beoncia Dunn: Visual Artist, Creative Director & Wardrobe Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beoncia Dunn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beoncia, what principle do you value most?
As an artist, my work has and will always be meant to uplift & to impact my people to continue to press forward. It is important that we continue to create art with the intention to uplift & inspire because some people may need the message from our work more than we do. Whether they see our work in the same way that we intend for it to be perceived or if they view our work in a completely different way. I am but a vessel; I will continue to use my gifts to impact the world in Love & Light.
Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Post college, I started working retail & I would interview for corporate Marketing positions throughout my retail career. Could not find the right fit for me in the marketing industry. Eventually, my love for fashion & art became the most prominent thing on my mind. The same way it was when I was a toddler to my teenage years. I would sketch shoes that I wanted to design, hand sew outfits that I would re-create from thrifted pieces, paint on denim, collect my favorite fashion campaigns from my mom’s magazines, sketch & paint still art. Fast forward to post college, I was still disappointed that I hadn’t found a corporate marketing job to utilize my Business Marketing degree. Once I started working at NORDSTROM & TOPMAN I knew my life was shifting & every job that I was working was aligning me with my divine path to fashion & art as a Creative & Artist.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
El Metador Beach, Vasquez Rocks & a secret hideout spot that I go to in SunValley. I don’t do itineraries so there will be no set schedules on this end. The most important takeaway when spending time with me is just experiencing beautiful spaces and living in the moment and being cautious not to box people in.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mother, Judy Dunn
