We had the good fortune of connecting with Beulah Obioma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beulah, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
How hard it is to consistently create, and stay in that headspace despite all that is going on with the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My arts is my being so expression, I am a Nigerian immigrant in America so the mix of both cultures is interestingly translated in my contact. I wasn’t always going to be a creative , My dad always said I was going to be a lawyer, but after much observation he saw that that wasn’t my calling, and that wasn’t easy for him to admit. I’ve learned that nobody cares what you do, long as you do it well and you stay consistent, then you’ll be recognized for it. I don’t necessarily want the whole world to know me so I certain thing, I want to be able to empower and inspire someone out there, especially young girls to believe in themselves and start somewhere, even if that somewhere is not the best place , but to start and stay consistent.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m really into self-care nowadays, so my first activity would be touring the city of LA, then going for a facial and a massage, then soaking in an ice bath for 20 to 30 minutes together, and then going to eat. LA has a lot of amazing restaurants, I personally like seafood and recently I haven’t gotten into vegan food. We would eat and then sleep.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
