We had the good fortune of connecting with Blythe Mink and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blythe, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want to enable people to live their most fulfilled lives. Having the opportunity to champion folks who are feeling stuck, or have a goal that they want to achieve allows them to level up in ways they may have not been able to do on their own.

I’d love to leave behind an impact that makes people feel confident in who they are, what they want, and to shine brightly on the path of a purposeful life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am am Co-Active trained professional career coach – which is the gold standard in coaching. I’m also a Gallup certified CliftonStrengths coach, and Talent Development leader with a decade of experience supporting leadership and professional development in the tech space. I’ve always had a passion for connecting with people, making them feel seen, and supporting them in achieving their goals.

When I first had the opportunity to work with a coach myself, I was blown away. There are phases in life where we all need clarity and and unbiased support. For me, that was returning to the working world after having my second son, Levi. It felt harder for me to see my life purpose, and my coach helped shine light on what I couldn’t see by myself. The experience of having my own coach sparked a fire within me to reach more people, and to start my own coaching business to support others’ journeys for clarity, purpose, and a more fulling life in and outside of work.
My mission is to support people who are ready to pivot out of career ruts, grow as a leaders, or find more work-life balance. I believe that everyone is naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. All people deserve access to an advocate that enables them to live their most fulfilled life in and outside of work, whatever that means to them. After working with me, my clients have found empowerment, clarity, and the roadmap to achieve their short and long term goals.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would take a day trip to Santa Barbara! We would go wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley, or the “urban wine trail” in the Funk Zone. We would spend the day playing beach volleyball at East Beach, and eating burritos from Mony’s. Then, we’d have dinner and cocktails outside under the beautiful bougainvilleas at Loquita.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been blessed with a handful mentors and managers who supported my professional development. A big turning point in my career was taking Gallup’s CliftonStrengths assessment and reading their books. The assessment allowed me to truly understand my natural talents, and how I could apply them both professionally and personally. It ended up redirecting me on my career path, and even prompted me to become a Gallup certified CliftonStrengths coach.

I now support others’ exploration of their superpowers in life, enabling them to lean on their authentic, natural, and unique talents. I recommend that everyone takes the assessment, and I offer a debrief to my clients to unpack their results. It’s a fun and enlightening self discovery exercise to learn about how you communicate and show up. I believe there is only going to be one “you” in this world, and your uniqueness will be your biggest catalyst for personal success.
