We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Gillmore, PhD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandy, how does your business help the community?
Honestly, I ended up somewhere I never thought I would be, I was a mess and this is something that is happening to more and more people.
I was injured, dependent on using a wheelchair, walker, cane, and told doctors couldn’t help me. Every area of my life fell apart: from relationships, financially, and level of happiness.
Unfortunately, there are so many people these days, who in that place for one reason or another are going through hardship, struggling financially, or they are plagued with an illness or struggling to cope with pain whether it’s physical and or emotional pain.
Even before the pandemic hit, the amount of people suffering from chronic pain & illness was increasing rapidly! And… it’s only getting worse.
Even though I was told I would not get better, I figured out how to heal fully and create a life even better than I imagined. Today I show others how to do the same. I speak to large audiences and host a podcast that inspires people, gives them hope, and shows them how to also take back their health, life and happiness!
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is called Human Potential Revolution and it’s all about empowering others to heal themselves and to live their best and most fulfilling life.
There are two primary things that set me apart from others. One, the results that I’ve been able to achieve set me apart because it’s something that has never been done before. It has been proven by the placebo that the mind does “somehow” have the ability to heal our physical bodies. And we have also heard of prayer healing or that stress affects the body. I have been able to take this awareness that our mind is powerful and show rapid healing results – that can be seen even under thermal medical equipment, using only the mind.
Second, is that I have been there. I was injured and suffered with incredible pain. I was able to heal myself from my own wheelchair, walker, cane of almost 7 years from an “incurable” injury/illness, to become 100% healthy and I help others do the same.
In my work I am most proud of my Tedx talk and my podcast. Because I am able to reach thousands of people through these platforms, all of the time I have people reach out and tell me how much they have changed their life and inspired them to do what they did not feel was possible. Since I was injured and in a bad place for so many years, hearing these people touches my heart and excites me that more and more people are stepping into happiness, health, and empowerment.
There are key things I have done to get where I am in business today. The first is that most people don’t fully believe you can heal with the mind, I didn’t either. Which is what drove me to show the results under medical equipment so even the most skeptical could watch the healing happen. Staying aligned and in good integrity is a must. I truly care about people getting results and always strive to be and do better in every way.
In some ways it was easy, in other ways it has been challenging and has taken a lot of work, continuing to also step outside my comfort zone. And it’s also been easy in that I love what I do, and I am very passionate about it, and that energy and heart and drive continues to fuel me. When we are aligned with something it’s like we are in flow. Even though I have a lot to get done in a week, being in that flow makes it both challenging but also simultaneously easy, exciting and fun!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love LA, there is so much to do. I like spontaneity so my itinerary would be fully scheduled but it would definitely include eating at some of my favorite restaurants, like Wally’s Beverly Hills, Chateau, Nobu Malibu, Moonshadows and Cecconis. Working out every day at Equinox – yep, I love the gym! Checking out overlooks, scenery, possibly an exhibit at the museum, local art shows, and definitely getting in a few spa days at Beverly Hot Springs. Depending on the time of year, my itinerary would have to include some beach activities, such as a beach bike ride or parasailing. I would also be sure to plan a day of shopping, likely I would hit the Beverly Hills/Rodeo and Century Mall. I would also have to plan a day – or evening- at the Grove- which might be for shopping, or possibly just dining and walking through the Grove and farmers market. Whatever it is, I love the energy of the Grove. Lastly, the trip would not be complete without music. For that, I would seek out a local concert or go to Vibrato Grill for live jazz, or both. Likely my friend would have to come back for a second trip, there are so many things to do in LA.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are two specific things that deserve recognition in my story. First and foremost, my best friend Tina Manning who has fueled my success by just being able to laugh, celebrate with me, being stable and positive. She is a joy to be around, so loving and fun.
Secondly, the biggest thing that has helped me create my life is the Universe/God or whatever you want to call it. There is no way that I would be where I am today without that strong spiritual connection.
