Meet Bree Leche | Sex & Relationship Coach, Artist, Mother & Wife

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bree Leche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bree, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is essential to living authentically. I have always challenged the definitions of categories that have been assigned to me. My life as a sex positive mother in an open marriage is risky in that I leave myself open to judgement from others. Though mainstream celebrities are increasingly attempting to expand the definition of motherhood to be inclusive of their sexual selves — civilian mothers outwardly owning their sexualities is still risky. But remaining connected to my erotic self has been essential to living authentically and I am passionate about coaching others on how to take risks to live authentically — using their imaginations and cultivating courage to live outside the box.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have had to get really comfortable with the fact that I definitely do things my own way. I have learned how important it is to be true to myself and that by modeling that I encourage others to do the same. I am in the process of overcoming the challenge of balancing motherhood with my professional life while simultaneously divesting from capitalism and decolonizing the way I parent, the way I work and the way I do relationships. I have learned that this work is all connected and the sooner we all divest from these dominant paradigms that place value in our productivity and are bold enough to prioritize our wellbeing, the better off we will all be. The future depends on our ability to reclaim our human right to pleasure and I am passionate about helping folks do this through my one on one coaching sessions and through my art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a sensual creature, the bulk of our activities would be oriented around activities that stimulate the senses — nature spots that I enjoy and food I like to eat. We would mostly do some local takeout. I personally prefer some charming lowbrow spots. Since I am on the east side of town perhaps a bean and cheese burrito from Al & Bea’s, some soup dumplings and Dan Dan noodles from Kang Kang Food Court or takeout sushi from Yama Seafood. We would take our goodies to some local parks and sit under the trees. One of my favorite places in the city is the Arboretum in Arcadia. Other things on the to-do list would be to hit up a Korean Spa for some naked time, the tide pools in Malibu, and perhaps book a professional Dominatrix since this city has some of the best. I would ask my friend and collaborator Justin Reismann if he would use his talents behind the camera to capture some of our adventures.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
After graduating from college back in 2011, I was not sure what my next steps were but knew that I had a growing interest in women’s health, and sexuality. I was fortunate to connect with and intern for the incredible Pati Garcia — queer doula, midwife, sexological bodyworker and all-around badass. She was bold and unapologetic about her unconventional career path, interests and was also in a nonmonogamous partnership at the time. She was the first person who really showed me what it could look like to live my life outside of the box.
