We had the good fortune of connecting with Brent Concolino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brent, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
After being in business for over 20 years, it has become clear that the greatest lesson I have learned is that building meaningful relationships is more important than the sale of a product or service. No matter what job or business people have, I believe it must be fueled by creating solid relationships through biblical principles. When practiced, relationships last forever and will naturally develop a sustainable business and personal life. ROCK Institute is a faith based company that seeks to create meaningful and lasting relationships with our athletes, patients, clients and community. In general the stronger your love for Christ is, the stronger your connection for people will be, creating a true foundation in business and life. It is not always easy, but that is not what I expect.
What should our readers know about your business?
Our ROCK Family purpose is to deliver unparalleled service with passion to change lives by preventing unwarranted surgeries, healing disease, and maximizing human potential. Humbly and faithfully, we believe the human body is divinely created and, as such, endowed with an instinctive capacity to perform and regenerate far beyond science and medicine can fully explain. For decades, RI has worked hard to be on the cutting edge of human performance, having served over 15,000 athletes and individuals. It is through our unique perspective and comprehensive methodology that RI focuses on strengthening functional movement patterns in order to eliminate pain and discomfort, restore the body’s natural functions, promote healing, and prevent unwarranted surgeries. Our Performance, Correction and Wellness Divisions work as a team to help individuals Reach Optimum Core Kinetics.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To me, there is no better way to spend a day than exploring the beauty of Orange County. My ideal Saturday would consist of waking up early to work out, followed by hiking the canyons of Orange with my wife and kids. I love to teach my children about cherishing the great outdoors. You can often find us swimming at the beach, fishing, or hunting. If not cooking at home. I make it a priority to support local, family-run businesses. Some of my all-time favorites are John’s Place in Orange and Arc Butcher & Baker in Newport Beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, none of my success would be possible. Of course I have to give credit to my immediate family for instilling the morals and values in which I carry into my business. My wife, Ashley, has held me accountable for the past twenty years, pushing me to be a better man. Without her constant support, love and encouragement daily, I would not be in the position I am today. My three boys have given me a different perspective on life itself, even in the business world. On a day-to-day business level, Talar, (ROCK Director of Operations) has managed all logistics and finances these past 10 years. She is the glue that holds everything together, and the ROCK wouldn’t be where it is today without her.
