We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Lawrence and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting a business was to help people. To help people become the best they can possibly become. To let everyone I come in contact with know that anything is possible. That through consistency and hard work you can achieve your goals. To give people confidence in themselves that they may not currently have. That through fitness and nutrition not only will change your life but of those around you. Setting an example is setting a standard for generations to come.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is about change. About growth. About development through instruction, coaching and support. I have learned that not everyone has an unconditional support system. Sometimes we just need someone in our corner to say “you can do it”. I have gotten where I am through dedication, sacrifice, consistency and support and assistance. I was thought that every man was an island. That if I did not receive help then I would do it on my own. Through this process I have learned asking for help and guidance can be a benefit.
I want the world to know that I am just like everyone else. That I am you. I have cravings and desires that do not always fit into the fitness and proper nutrition world. I know what it’s like when you just don’t feel like training. I know what it’s like when you have a pain in your body because of age. I know what it’s like to want to move heavy weights. I want the world to know that it is on those days where you see the most gain. That the training can be one of the most effective and cost effective therapy sessions that I know about. That once you put your body through hell in the gym or on the track and eating what your body needs to be at it’s best; the rest of the world will become less daunting and more manageable.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the area I would take them out to Venice Beach on a Sunday afternoon. I would show them the diversity and creativity in our city. I don’t go out to eat very much so it would be contingent on the day and the time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would give all the credit to my children. My grandson. They are my inspiration to be the best version of myself. To lead by example. Through their support and encouragement I believe that I can change the world for the better one person at a time.
