We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Batie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I like performing on stage and being in front of the camera bringing other’s stories to life through acting.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My tenacity is what sets me apart – I’m persistent in achieving my goals. I’m most proud of my sons becoming husbands and fathers and productive members of society. I got to where I am today because of family support, my faith in God and believing in myself. It has not been easy getting into acting and can be challenging to ones budget! I overcame by getting involved in community theater, student films, taking classes, reading books about acting, and asking a lot of questions! What I’ve learned along the way is to trust the process, and be patient with myself- great things take time to develop. My story – drive and passion.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Lake Las Vegas for outdoor jazz, dinning, and water activities.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Joe Batie who always believes in me, and pushes me to keep pursuing my dreams. My sons Jovan and Reggie for always cheering me on. My past San Diego acting coaches, Terry Ross, Samuel Warren, Jr., Robert Wald, and Andrew Benne who taught me through acting classes, that it’s about the relationship and to always be present in the moment.
