Meet Brian M. Wixson | Script Writer/Editor & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian M. Wixson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian M., is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success, so far, is making sure my clients are not only happy with the scripts or feedback that I give them, but also happy and comfortable and relatable with me. Even after the work has been delivered, I will always be supportive and a team player.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Me? What’s different about me? Nothing and everything, all at the same time, I guess. I will never claim I am the next best thing. I will claim that I will work hard for whomever wants me to work with them. Even long after the words THE END are put to the page. What excites me is seeing others excited, and making that happen. Also, being on set is forever exciting for me, whether acting or behind the scenes. I measure my success not in the paycheck for the work provided, but the success of the work itself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I am in the NYC area, the go to answer would be NYC for visiting. Preferably not bitter cold months, but Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Freedom Tower and so many other vantage points to view from above. Central Park is a must see. Enough restaurants to not have to cook ever. And some of my old stomping grounds, whether hangouts or former jobs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While there are many people that I can give thanks to throughout my journey to becoming a screenwriter, 2 people stand out. The first is Aaron Hanson, who said he wanted me to write the script for his horror idea. This was my 1st attempt to write a script, instead of being an editor of other people’s work. The 2nd person is Michelle Eades, who believed in me that I could turn her autobiography WHY into a great script, when I had never tackled that genre before.
