We had the good fortune of connecting with Britainn Aldridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britainn, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It has always been a dream of mine to open up a bakery/cafe with my mother. When the pandemic hit, I lost my job and felt this was the perfect opportunity to start! I figured bundt cakes would make the most sense for my situation. This way the cake is the star and in my opinion has the best cake to icing ratio. After the theme was set, I needed a name, thus Bundtiful Cakes was born! I wanted to play with Bundt cakes and felt Bundtiful sounded the best!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets Bundtiful Cakes apart from other bakeries has to be the cakes! As cliche as it sounds it’s true! Our cakes are moist and light made with real ingredients that you can taste! You can never just have one! Another convenience is we deliver! We understand planning can be stressful and we want to help!
I’m probably most excited for our storefront! We’re currently a virtual bakery and is in the beginning process of opening a storefront, so not only will you be able to enjoy our cakes in the restaurants, you’ll be able to come into our bakery and customize our cakes as you please!
Business wise my journey isn’t over and will continue to grow. It has been filled with rejections and acceptance, ups and downs, highs and lows! I wouldn’t have it any other way. I feel the journey is the experience and is different for everyone. I’ve learned, my lows push me to do better and my highs let me know I’m doing the right thing and to keep pushing.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LA is beautiful and has something for everyone! I would suggest hitting the beach, finding a good trail to hike, visit the park for some good outdoor fun. We also have great eats! My top 3 places to visit are Sweet Chick, Wokcano, and Paradise Cove! Can’t go wrong with anything on their menu, plus the drinks are tasty! I feel everyone must visit our museums, art exhibits, Griffith Observatory, theme parks, Hollywood Blvd, and, see a show to get the full experience of LA!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out my family especially my mother Eddren and my grandmother Margie for teaching me how to bake. A Special thanks goes out to Jackie for believing in me and helping me get my cakes in restaurants across Los Angeles. Without them there wouldn’t be Bundtiful Cakes!
