We had the good fortune of connecting with Bruna Fachetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bruna, what role has risk played in your life or career?

I believe taking risks is the only way to live outside of our comfort zone. As a Chubbuck acting teacher, I have learned a lot about this through the Los Angeles bestseller “The Power of The Actor,” which has also been used by Forbes entrepreneurs to encourage them to take risks. I translated the almost 500-page book into Portuguese and launched it in Brazil, which was one of the biggest risks I have ever taken because it took me so much time and effort. It turned out to be a huge success because it was so different from what was available in the Brazilian market. The Chubbuck technique breaks down the script analysis process and approaches acting based on the behavior of dynamic people. The goal is to  empower the world through the Arts by taking the victimization out of the it.

After implementing the Chubbuck technique in Brazil, I started to investigate myself more and learn about my own nature and how to embrace it. I used to act like a victim and blame others for my problems, but eventually I learned how to love myself for who I am. This helped me to take my acting career to the next level before coming to America. I wasn’t afraid to take risks or being innovative, because I have always used creativity as a tool. Taking risks allowed me to express myself in a unique way and share my unique perspective with the world.

I have learned that embracing our nature and uniqueness is one of the most powerful things we can do, because it takes a lot of courage to be who we are and speak the truth. It is exactly what is unique about us what we have to share with the world, adding new information rather than just creating repetition. I have no regrets about the risks I have taken, even when I fell on my face, because I learned something from every experience. Taking risks like coming to America have been hard but the results are priceless.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Since I became an acting teacher, I fell in love with human development. Before that, I had already been intrigued by the power of the subconscious mind in creating and affecting our reality, as well as quantum physics and spirituality. I was searching for something that could help me to heal and evolve and experimenting it with great results when a tragedy occurred with my mom’s neighbor. I decided to start writing about those experiences, hoping to inspire others that it is possible to win despite and because of our obstacles.

My first script was actually published as an illustrated book called “Infinite – An Animated Odyssey.” It tells the story of a guy who is trapped in his own mind and needs to face his fears, traumas, and let go of the patterns that are holding him back from living the life of his dreams. It is based on my own experiences and the tragedy of the neighbor, which is revealed in the book.

After I published “The Power of the Actor” in Portuguese, which discusses how to analyze a script but also how to transform personal experiences into success, I delved further into behavioral science. Recently, I published my second book called “Mom, What Are My Emotions For?” with the hope of inspiring children to embrace their emotions and understand their nature to develop emotional intelligence – something that I didn’t have until a few years ago.

I used to be afraid of making mistakes and thought I needed to be perfect, or else nobody would like me. In order to be validated, I would agree with things that I didn’t like. This put me in a victimization mode because I felt that all the power was in other people’s hands. Only when I learned how to love myself and embrace my own nature as something that makes me unique, did I start taking my power back. I decided to channel that pain and knowledge into something creative that could be also inspiring.

This deep understanding of human needs for validation, love, success, and the Chubbuck technique taught me a lot about empathy, and I developed a strong desire to serve others through my own experiences. Because I love expressing myself in an artistic way, whether through acting, writing, producing, or directing (my next step), I have been producing my own content. Currently, I am working on a movie to bring awareness to social struggles such as women who love too much, nonviolent communication, financial education, and so on.

These are things that I only learned as an adult, but not knowing them affected all my decisions for a long time. How do I express my feelings effectively? How do I say what I need to without breaking boundaries? How do I make money and what do I do with it? How can I love myself more? These are questions that guide my work and the things I want to talk about in books, movies, artistic interventions, or any other creative expression that can inspire others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I usually take my friends on bike rides in Santa Monica and walks in Venice. I love the Art Street and all the unique people and expressions we can find there. My favorite spots for coffee are Urth Cafe and La La Land Cafe.

I also enjoy visiting El Matador for some relaxing time and cool pictures, and then Paradise Cove for lunch and to enjoy the beach. In Pacific Palisades, I like to stop on a Sunday morning at the Self Realization Temple for a great service and a beautiful walk in their garden where some of Gandhi’s ashes also are.

I would definitely go for a hike to the Griffith Observatory and enjoy the sunset from one of my favorite views of the Hollywood sign and Los Angeles city. There, you can also have the best views of the sun and moon through their amazing telescopes.

At night, I might go for karaoke in Korea Town or a salsa place like La Descarga.

There are also tons of amazing programs such as going to the museums The Getty and The Academy, studio tours, Little Tokyo and so on.

Lastly, I would take them for a Brazilian feijoada with great music at my favorite Brazilian restaurant in Culver City.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Ivana Chubbuck has been my mentor since before I became a certified Chubbuck teacher. Through her technique, I learned how to investigate myself, embrace my nature, and use my fears and traumas to succeed in life. Additionally, she gave me a purpose in life: to empower the world through the Arts.
