We had the good fortune of connecting with Bruno Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bruno, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I have built my career and my “success” based on never stopping learning. I always felt that there is no ceiling in any discipline, and I think this kind of mindset allows you to keep pushing the limits and scale your work to the next level, taking more risks and challenging yourself with bigger projects. Knowledge gives you confidence and as an art director or lead graphic designer, it is crucial to keep experimenting and updating yourself to open your mind and be able to create original and impressive visuals that transmit and connect with people.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is my personal brand and it takes a lot of effort and courage to get to that point. Success is slow and doesn’t happen overnight, so the most important part is staying focused and being consistent in what you love while trying to do your best in every content you create. Opportunities will come and be prepared for them will give you the confidence and attitude to achieve what you are looking for. My perseverance and knowledge gave me the opportunity to work with brands like NBA, NFL, UFC, Brooklyn Nets, CANADA, Snapchat, or the Super Bowl. It was not an easy road even less in the current situation of Covid, but the talent must speak for itself, and it is important to keep working and give the best of itself in each project. When you are experiencing those periods of time when you are less busy, I find it really helpful to be busy with personal projects and take time to improve and enjoy the things you love, and before you realize, time will pass and you will find yourself in front of your next big project.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my opinion, the most incredible plans in Los Angeles always start or end on the beach. Surfing in Malibu or South Encinitas is always a good start to the day. Also, my favorite places to eat or have breakfast are near the beach, Djusta, Deus, Soho Club, or Cinque, to name a few. Also, enjoying the mountains like in Inyo National Park is an amazing destination for a weekend if you want to see beautiful lakes, animals, or trails. Los Angeles is really focused on the city, which is completely amazing with countless plans and events, but the wilderness part is incredibly beautiful. North Hollywood or Fairfax is the place to find great events with interesting people that usually end with great, exclusive parties that you don’t want to miss. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Part of my success it’s obviously thanks to my parents and specially @carlosmartinezvolpatti that until today keeps experimenting and enjoy life through Art. Also, my inspiration comes from various part Music, Surf and Art in general, but the most important part I would say that the people around you makes who you are. Being surrounded by inspiring people makes you a better person on the simple fact that conversations and plans will always be more interesting and inspiring. So shoutout to all my friends! and a special mention to @martacastellano and @jorgegraucorral
