Meet BZ Cullins | Actor/Voice Talent

We had the good fortune of connecting with BZ Cullins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BZ, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Letting go. House. Job. Family. I was in a state of taking care of everything and everyone except myself. I figured hold everyone else down and it’s all good.
I realized I had to take care of me and make sure I’m good or I’d be no good to anyone else, which has always been a priority to me….caring for others.
I had to let my house go. The mortgage was killing my financial overhead. I had a part time job I had to let go. It was killing my time overhead. I had to let family members go and love them from afar. They were killing my emotional overhead

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an actor. I’ve known I’ve wanted to be in entertainment since five years
Everything for me began in music. Studying opera, singing in a five man vocal group, music production, rap, all that.
My voice changed when I was eight and it took a while to figure out what to do with it. I discovered voice over and everything took a turn from there. It took a couple decades, but it did turn around, God’s glory.
There’s always a process and persistence in that process is paramount. Trust me! It’s taken me over 30 years to crack the industry.
I’ll never say it easy been easy. I had to lose in order to win…family, house, job, sense of direction, etc.
Pray, Plan. Pursue. Persevere.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a recent LA transplant myself. I love the city because of the cultural diversity. You can’t run out of things to discover. It’s inexhaustible
I just recently discovered a joint on Century called Cork and Batter. The food is great and the music and vibe is slammin!
I’m a big fan of Roscoe’s. I know the locals aren’t too impressed, but I love it. Gimme the Santa Monica Overlook all day, everyday.
I don’t need to go anywhere else. Deliver me some food and I’m posted, period!
There’s a joint called Mardi Gras Tuesday on Ventura in Sherman Oaks. Maaaaann, forget about it!!
Fresh Corn Grill on Santa Monica Blvd….FIRE!!
I visited the Panini Kabob Grill which was amazing, but I’m not sure if it’s still around.
I like to drive Mulholland Blvd and pull over and just eyeball the city for a while…often.
One of my favorites, ever, is Paul Martins in Manhattan Beach. Dope, dope, dope!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Source of all resources…the Living God of the universe gets all glory, and I’m thankful to him for those whom HE’s allowed to cross my path and have had a profound impact on the dude I’ve become.
