We had the good fortune of connecting with Carissa Beasley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carissa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Staying true to why I started this passion is the biggest key. As a small business it’s incredibly easy to get sidetracked on what’s “new/up and coming” but going back to your roots and your why is important. In retail following trends can be exhausting so allowing yourself the space to do so creatively is key. Build a strong community around you and you automatically have the key to success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started lv plant collective in 2019 right after I moved from Maui to Las Vegas. We opened our first brick and mortar mid pandemic, in November of 2020. It was a challenge and still is but seeing all of the other small business around me kept me going. I found a sense of community within the struggle.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Eat/Drink definitely vegenation! They have the absolute best vegan food. Fergusons downtown is a really unique space with curated small business (this is where my business is) it was an old motel turned into a functioning space paired with an eatery and coffee shop.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
@minimalmarketlv our neighbors, have created such a unique zerowaste refill station in nevada. They are stocked with all the goods you need to start your zero waste journey or to simply stay sustainable in any aspect of your life. (first of it’s kind in Nevada)
