We had the good fortune of connecting with Carliss Bussey Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carliss, how do you think about risk?
The way I approach taking a risk is before going into a particular risk is that it’s 50/50. I tend to think of every possible outcome before I proceed to take the risk. I have never had success just going raw & unplanned, for me when I’m organized with solutions planned out. Success tends to follow. Taking risks have played the biggest factor in my life starting after my senior year of high school. Risk from mentality, sports, school , business , lifestyle , living and more have had there pros and cons that I had to learn from. Those experiences have led me to where I’m at today, which sometimes I do have my days thinking back thinking “Why did I do this or that , what if I would have….”. as life continues there’s more risk I will have to take to elevate to another phase in my life which will come with critical preparation and strategy to make sure the risk is executed to the fullest to get the best results.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
More of a shorter answer here. I’m most excited about 2023 & 2024 as those are redefining building blocks of building and stabilizing our name brands. I can’t speak too much on it but if you decide to follow our journey which we would love everyone too so we can all connect on a bigger purpose then what will take place will be astronomical. I get to where I’m at professionally today just by trying different things and being a jack of all trades being good enough to make a name for myself. Nothing is easy, I just overcome my challenges by never getting to high and never getting to low…..y’all know the saying. I focus on staying level headed in the mist of chaos. The ultimate lesson I learned along the way is that the worst thing someone can say is No….nothing more, nothing less. What I won’t do someone else will.

What I want the world to know about my story and our brand is that it’s still being written and it hasn’t been published yet..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some cities we would check out would be Orange County or San Fernando Valley going towards Thousand Oaks & Calabasas. As far as food we would eat Roscoe’s. If there are sporting events going on then we would go to those then end the night after that.

The most interesting places to check out are Santa Monica Pier, Downtown L.A, Hollywood , piers in orange county, and video game arcades.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s too many people and certain influences that could fill up this whole article with just shoutouts alone. So just to play it smooth so I don’t miss anyone. I’m going to shoutout and give thanks to everyone I’ve come across in my lifetime thus far from family, friends, relationships, teammates , business partners , coaches , mentors , internet connections and more. As well as the locations of Seattle,WA & Los Angeles,CA have played pivotal timeframes in my journey.

A book that I would like to dedicate some shine to is called “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. Also as well as motivational speakers Eric Thomas ,Inky Johnson, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Nipsey Hussle. These four people and book detailed my perspective into a more intensified mindframe. Two certain daily phrase I live by is
“Don’t Cheat The Grind.” – Chris Douglas-Roberts which is reminder that you can’t cheat this day to day process we call “life” or you will be left behind. The second phrase I live by is “TMC= The Marathon Continues” by the late great Nipsey Hussle because everyday is a marathon that we’re running.
