We had the good fortune of connecting with Carol Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carol, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Habits that helped me succeed? The habits I feel helped me succeed are living a healthy lifestyle, I eat clean exercise and I meditate daily. I remain grateful for what I have and I exude confidence and positivity. I believe showing up everyday to work, for my kids, anywhere I go with a positive attitude helps others around me succeed. I want to light up a dim room with happiness and spread my positive energy. The world needs more of this! Not everyday is a good one, but I’ve made a habit of staying positive even when times are tough. Spreading love and positivity Is something I lacked in my previous marriage and my childhood, I habitually wake up with a grateful heart and strive to be the best I can be for myself and for those around me. I love people! I want to make a difference! We all should! I’m a strong believer in good nutrition. It’s vital to feed the body nutritious foods. Self care is so important. I’m all about self care!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work for an incredible company called Chosen Payments. It’s a merchant sales company, that I feel very proud to be apart of. I saw a job posting on Facebook regarding some positions that became open during Covid19 and I reached out right away. Going from full-time stay at home mom to full-time working Mom at a sales job I had no experience in has been challenging but I love it! I’m learning so much everyday, not just in the industry but my ability to focus and succeed. When I was interviewed for the position, they had many reasons not to hire me. I had my kids at 22 years old, I lacked work experience, I didn’t have a college degree. What I did have was a great attitude, confidence and extreme motivation what cannot be taught. I knew I would learn the industry quickly, I knew I would be an asset and I will be successful, I believe my boss saw that in me. I believe if you want something bad enough you’ll do whatever it is to get it. I’m not intimated by anyone or anything. My goal is to help people, build people up and add value to my surroundings. Selling merchant sales may not be an ultimate passion of mine, but having the ability to talk to people and persuade them in a genuine way that you’re calling to provide better service and rates is something I’m learning to master. I never want to come across as just another “sales person”. My goal is too establish, trust and a relationship with my clients. I want my clients to know, we will do it better because we care and have the ability to save people money. The lessons I’ve learned on the way is, going into my office everyday with a smile on my face. Being a friend at the office and adding excitement to my team. I know when I go into work with positivity and a grateful heart, success will follow. What you put out in the universe is what you will gain back. I’m a huge believer in the law of attraction. I’m living proof it works! I want the world to know, once you’ve reached a place of a positive mind and soul, you will be unstoppable. Good things will come into fruition. It has to be genuine within you, it takes practice to get to this point. The law of attraction is a real thing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s a tough one! I love Santa Ynez. It’s beautiful, peaceful, so many great restaurants, winery’s, hiking trails, shopping. It has most things I love! I would definitely go to Sunstone Vineyards & Winery for wine tasting, lunch or dinner at SY Kitchen and cocktails at Maverick Saloon. There’s many great hiking and mountain biking trails. So much to do up there!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My friends and family, especially my children Jackson, Jesse and Jameson. I listen to positive podcast and follow Dr. Will Cole closely. Dr. Will Cole wrote the book “Ketotarian”, it’s been a game changer for me as far as my health goes. Not only does Dr. Will Cole cover nutrition, he talks about over all health and wellness. A huge shout out to a special person in my life by the name of Rob Lyle, he has been by my side since the very beginning of my divorce and struggles. He’s seen my ups and downs. He’s helped keep me grounded and has encouraged me to stay strong. Without the many great friendships I’ve made this last year I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have a great community around me, I’m forever grateful for each and ever person that has touched my heart and helped me on my journey. I will pay it forward, I hope I already am!
