We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Koziol and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, how do you define success?
I really don’t know how to answer this question. Recently I realised that we are all unique and there is no “average child”. Something that works for Martin, doesn’t necessary mean it will work for Amelia, something that works for Michelle, doesn’t mean it will work for Pola.
As human beings we always want more, there is no final destination to anything in life. If you gain 10k followers, you want 20k, then 100 k then 1 million. If you buy a house, you then want to decorate it, then maybe have a better and bigger place. I thought that If I get my book published, I would feel happy and successful- I didn’t. I was more upset because I realised that I didn’t enjoy the process of it. I thought that If I lost weight I would be successful and happy but I wasn’t. I was more worried than before because I didn’t know how to maintain healthy weight.
Now I learned that success for me is more the fact that I listen to my body, take care of myself daily and enjoy the journey of life. Failure for me is also a success. Its tough question though.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I learned that failure is good. It makes you stronger and what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger !:)
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a chance I would take a long hiking trip somewhere in California. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My best friend Phil. He believed in me more than anyone else. I feel blessed that I had a chance to meet him. His kindness towards people and me was beyond, but I guess a part of kindness consists in loving people more than they deserve.
