We had the good fortune of connecting with Casley Goodwill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Casley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting a business for me meant being able to express my ideas on a canvas to inspire others. Whether through a piece I created or someone being inspired simply by me working toward my dream, inspiring those near and far is what I deem as my chosen purpose. Through Scelto’s inspiration, I hope to help people find their true chosen purpose in life through the messages put out through the pieces or my brands mission.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel as though my brand message and the message I put onto my pieces separates me from other designers. I’m most proud of the creation of my Muhammad Ali Tapestry crewneck, which only scraped the surface of my ability as a designer and how I capture art and create another aspect to it. Getting to where I am today was not easy, and I am not far along my journey yet by any means. I still have a long way to go, and I’m very early within the process. A piece of advice I’d personally give to other creatives/brand owners out there is to learn as much a you can and don’t be afraid to fail. Learning more about what you’re trying to achieve will make things easier and give you more clarity, and through failure you will also learn what to do and not do in any given situation. Believe in your purpose, we were all chosen to fulfill our own specific destiny. You are One of One.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first have to give the recognition to my wonderful parents. Having parents that support you in all your endeavors, as well as help you achieve success in those endeavors is a true blessing. Without them, I would not be where I am today. Secondly, I would like to give recognition to the person responsible for inspiring me to go ahead and create my brand, my wonderful girlfriend, Tiara. She is so caring and hardworking, and if it weren’t for her inspiring me through her own work managing two brands, TJ Minks and Ruwa Kouture, Scelto may not have been created. Through this brand, I’ve been able to connect and inspire so many wonderful people and will continue to do so. So in the end I would like to thank Tiara greatly for helping me take that leap into something that changed my life.
