We had the good fortune of connecting with Casllie(joan) Scott (arccc) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Casllie(Joan), can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Gary, Indiana. I was brought up in fear like most single mother households. My father was murdered when I was a baby and never got to experience that of a full household. I was brought up to have a cautious view of the world. And I wouldn’t change anything about my child hood because it has made me assertive at times and humble.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been serving in the army national guard since 2016. I have deployed three times to the Middle East. I am also an aspiring actress- model unsigned and have been featured in over 13 magazines. I have walked for LADFW twice and have walked for other third-party shows. I have been in three commercials, several specs and one movie. I enjoy painting; portraits and murals for commission. I just recently got approved to sell my art prints on Amazon. I am also balancing the college life to graduate as a surgical tech in 2026. In this life you can never have more than one dream and more than one job to get you just a little bit closer to where you want to be in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live just outside of Los Angeles so I have never full been able to experience the night life of LA. However, when I do decide to take a break from career related attributes I go out to Redlands Underground club. You can catch me there in the middle of the dance floor dancing with strangers.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to acknowledge all the bullies and obstacles that I’ve had during my journey. You have not stopped me and this will not be the last time you see me
