We had the good fortune of connecting with Cee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cee, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first started my blog I was in the process of becoming a foster parent. But once we were placed, everything changed. I became a mom overnight and had to learn everything pretty quick. My blog was put on hold because I was still learning how to balance my new role as a foster mom and a wife and be my own person. Now that we are almost two years into it I have learned how to balance it all by creating my own schedule to follow.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what makes me different is that I have a lot of unique factors in play. I’m gay, a foster mom and Latina. I try my best to incorporate all of these pieces of myself into my content daily to speak to someone out there who identifies with one or all of those things. I know everyone says this but trial and error have been the name of the game. I’ve had my fair share of hearing no after no but pushing through that and continuing to keep going has helped me achieve some of my goals. I will have to say not being afraid to ask questions or for help. There are some people who are willing to help and some who will just ignore you or steer you the wrong way. It’s up to you to know who you can trust but when you do it becomes an amazing friendship and a way to help each other out as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Orange County so I would HAVE to take them to Disneyland. My family and I basically live there and would visit weekly. So it would have to be there. The food there is amazing and of course all of the attractions are a must.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I want to thank my partner. They have pushed me to be what I am today and not give up on my dreams and my goals. They have encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace this new life. They have also been my photographer, editor and anything else I need. I honestly couldn’t do this without them. I also have to thank the few friends I have made a long this journey who have never hesitated to answer my questions or refer me to someone they know. They know who they are and I am forever grateful for the people who have believed in me and pushed me to be my best. Last but not least I want to thank my kids. They push me everyday to be better and I just want to give them amazing experiences while showing them that hard work pays off.
