We had the good fortune of connecting with Chad Cherry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chad, why did you pursue a creative career?
Someone once told me “do the best you can with what you have.” You make art to get something out of yourself. It fills a void and says things you really can’t in any other way. I think most people that have a creative soul are motivated and driven and not afraid to take risks. It’s just a part of who and what you are made out of. Everything I put into the clothing line and my music is something that I would want to wear or listen to myself. So when others from around the world connect and appreciate it I feel as if there’s some universal language through art and inspiration. That’s one reason I love doing what I do. The shorter version of this answer is because it’s fun! -Chad Cherry
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Fueled by Rock & Roll and Horror movies. I find hard work seems to keep the ship afloat and my gears continuously turning. Because of this I have had the opportunity to work with some truly amazing and talented people. Some of them are my hero’s. The more love you put into something the more love you’ll get back. It’s definitely not handed out though, you gotta work your ass off and there’s no finish line. Life is all challenges no matter what your doing. Nothing is easy. It’s not suppose to be. You live and you learn. What I want people to take out of my clothing line would be something like the comfort of seeing your favorite movie again or reading the best chapter in a great book. Wearing or listening to my creations while people are making memories and enjoying life are the things I like to think about.
